Agree for an automatic with launch control but disagree for a manual tranny. The argument that would explain the 'Why' would be based on engine rpms. High rpms coming out of launch control, and low rpms, thus a moment of bog hesitation when at 5 mph. Thus with a standard, as you coming up on 5 mph, apply clutch and pedal the rpms up nice and high, at 5 mph, dump the clutch and hang on. No bog. Can you do that with a C8 if you pull both paddles to allow it to rev? And will it be in gear if you release while at a higher rpm? Just a thought from an engineering mind.
