Purchased 2024 LT2 Coupe Carbon Flash Metallic. Any Feedback ? Was thinking of Grey !

Although recent research questions the role of uric acid in bird waste, it remains a significant component that contributes to its corrosive nature.

And much easier to keep the vehicle clean . Most of the time just hose it off and dry it . Some feel it’s not worth the cost but personally I would do it again for sure. Repainting is also very expensive. Shop around as always.

You say it lasts 2 to 5 years, I say depends on how many times you wash the car before it gives out and in my experience ceramic doesn’t last that long even the 5 year one, know let’s say it could last 2 years, at $1,500 for a ceramic coating, that’s $750 a year that’s a lot of wax you can buy, I personally don’t mined waxing my Corvette. I get to see all its lines and see its beauty, I never used to get ceramic coatings until 2021 and all of my vehicles always had a shine and were protected by wax, so from now on, no more wasting money on ceramic coatings that don’t last.

But for the grills, it just did not have the wow factor and was not the head turner like the C8, so I had to get back into the Corvette, I was going to get into a E-Ray MSRP was $173K but living in BC what a joke 20% PST= $34,600, 5% GST = $9,380 and lux tax = $14,600 for a total of $58,580 in taxes if no trade in, so a $173,000 car then goes to $231,580 what a F- - -ing joke.
Soon to probably have another 25% added on to it if the tariffs go through, but don’t get me started on that subject.

Actually the search engine said 3 to 5 years but opinions vary depending on product. Nice thing is that everyone gets to decide for themselves if they want to use it.

Wow, it never takes long for these posts to go sideways.
We went from a Carbon Flash Metallic paint choice to the longevity of ceramic coatings in the blink of an eye.

With the Carbon Flash Metallic, I enjoy the fact that all components on my car match, right down to the rims and emblems.
I also enjoy the fact that my choice is seldom picked by others (and is now discontinued, at least on the E-Ray).
As soon as I can find those Carbon Flash Metallic fuzzy dice my life will be complete.

On a side note, I ended up with the E-Ray 5 spoke wheels only due to a constraint at the time on the Carbon Fibre option.
I'm very grateful for this now, as the inner barrels on the Carbon Fibre wheels are white (a heat coating?) and don't really match anything.
I didn't notice it when I was 'building' my car, but since then, it's one of the first things I see on any car with these.
I think G.M. could have done a bit better on this for anyone wanting to spend that kind of money on an 'upgrade'.

Beauty. So what do coating or film do you have on you car?
 
PPF and Ceramic are choices you decide you want, not an investment. I had PPF done to protect from chips because this car is a keeper, at least my wife hopes so. :p Up to now it has done a great job. I live in Quebec, so enough said about the roads here. Ceramic is nice but I prefer waxing my own car, now with ceramic in the wax and now use a buffer, once a year in spring , before taking it out. My Vette hibernates for 5 months at least. I had never done that before, PPF, but I do not regret it because I used to wax 2x a year on my other cars but still had chips. I paid 2000$ cash for the job. Good luck with your decision and price $.

Just don't use "wax". Waxes are yellow and change the colour of the car. If you want to do your own protectant, use a "polish". There is no good name for products like that. You don't actually "polish" a car. You are adding a preparation to the cars surface. I wish there was a better term for stuff like this. I used to use Zaino and it was amazing stuff, but I can't be bothered anymore so I got my car ceramic coated. On my winter beater I use a car wash with ceramic in it. It lasts for about a year when I wash the car again. LOL.

I did say a ceramic wax or something in that range. ;) :p I know one thing, this type is a lot harder to buff/shine by arm. You need a buffer.

Folks need to realize that those 5 year ceramic coating etc. are just marketing ploy imo.
I do my own at a fraction of the cost. Will see how it holds up after a winter on my daily.
I stay away from car washes because I believed they use harsh chemicals that would strip your paint protectant away much quicker, imho. I just use the wand pressure wash to get excessive salt off the surfaces.

Sorry, totally disagree. There are conditions that affect it, sure, but to make such a blanket statement is not reasonable.
