Have you driven a C8 Mark? I don't think the vert's vision is much different, if any, to the coupe. Properly aligned side mirrors should easily provide blind spot vision. Too many people have them adjusted to see to far forward. The turn of your head is supposed to provide side vision. The mirrors are for further back. I haven't driven one either, but any car I drive I only see directly what is right be side me. The mirror shows me what is behind the passenger door and further back.

I guess the Corvette should have everything for safety/convenience
as a standard and just have people complaining at the base costs.
I have a 2019 Sierra with every electronic do-dad on it.
It's handy in that the Truck tells me everything which means
I no longer need my navigator to do that. Am I ever glad
they don't have an option for a brake pedal on the navigator floor board.
That would be safety over-kill.

Yes. Most people do not have there side mirrors adjusted properly.
.

If you see your rear fenders from a standard driving position, your mirrors are turned inward too far to give you adjacent traffic vision. If you need to see your rear quarter panels when reversing, and don't have a back-up camera, lean in towards either mirror somewhat. Adjusted in this manner will give you blind spot vision. Shoulder checking to whatever degree you're capable of is still also recommended.

I always park the car in my driveway and put it where a tree or some other obstacle or better a second car is in the blind spot. If I can see it by turning my head then I'm too far back and I pull forward until I can't see it. Then I adjust the mirror so I can see some of the rear of the car. If that was a real situation I'd see it through the side window before it disappeared from my mirror. If I can see part of my car then I can adjust it to see more of the car in my blind spot. Depending on the car I might have to lean forward a bit to see farther down the road.

Yes l have drivin a C8 and l said two months ago what our friend posted from Gumball Rally a few days ago as a joke that ( Whats behind me is not important)and l feel that my driving talents and where l do my driving will mostly keep me safe . However now that GM is going after the younger crowd if they are in 1LTs the writing is on the wall. It's a2LT scam and it will cost lives down the road as most kids can't afford all the bell and whistle cars.

$5K or so is hardly a big deal to get the 2LT PKG. Marketing of cars has always been that way. If they (GM) sold only 1Lts they would not make very much money. It is adding options that counts and companies are responsible to shareholders; unless, you want to live in a Marxist socialist country like Venezuela etc. I have to shake my head with some of the inane comments made sometimes. You have to pay to play. Maybe save up more money before buying - for most people a C8 is not a daily driver anyway.

lf you really know me you would know that l am on the top 10% of the tax paying food chain in this sadly left leaning Country called Canada. l hate my Government but l love my Country. Nuff Said Never Again

It's $10 000 dude and just because we got the coin don't mean that we are chumps that want to part with our money not like you going to the lenders and using their coin. l have paid cash for everything l own.

l lived in Van for years made a fortune in real estate from buying in 1992 and selling in 2005 do the math my friend . t Top end cars sell for on a % markup all lose value on the same ratio. And when 10 years later your 2LT has lost half of its computer high end gizmoes that cost thousands as opposed to a bare bones 1LT with Z51 will be worth more in the end but l never sell my rides

Well said Mark ! I am also in the real estate business and own many rentals so I can afford to buy a 3LT if i want but that is not my point.
WOW guys. That was not the point - ability to buy. In any case, I pay cash and, well, since we are talking about money - I am extremely well off and can afford to pay cash for just about any car on the market; but, been a vette guy forever and A I am on my 4th one. Mark I do agree with your political view - so, we agree on something. Now if you could convince my wife that I can afford to buy a C8 vert, the cheque will be in the mail. Have a great weekend:Cheers2:

Tell your wife that you are extremely well off. Maybe you have been hiding that from her...
No, actually I haven't because I manage a large portion of our funds; and, quite frankly, she has more money than me - I've been retired for 11 years and she still works because she likes to.:Beatdeadhorse:

OK after using the rear mirror camera and the glass mirror, I prefer the glass mirror and see no need for the rear mirror camera. I adjusted the side mirrors for the blind spots and they worked just fine. Perhaps GM also thinks it's not essential. Just my opinion. I won't be using it much at all.

It falls into that "to each their own" group. I agree the mirror works fine with the mirrors. I do like the display for the expanded field of vision with the wide angle. It does taking getting use to for sure. But as long as everyone finds their comfort zone with the car, that's all that matters.
