Picked up My 2022 C8 3LT Z51 Corvette Yesterday In Victoria

I loved my C7 as well. Hated parting with it. I would have loved to keep it; but, not in my world - LOL. I had it the way I wanted it and it was a blast to drive. My wife was not happy to see it arrive šŸ˜ƒ (C8)

She can buy her own. She has way more money than me Ziggy. I have the GT3 seats and tan interior: Napa leather dash, half the door the rest is, I do not know: alcantra, microfiber or suede? No idea as I am still waiting for the build sheet. Seats no sure? I want to protect these materials so they are easy to clean if I get dirt on them. Any idea? Thanks.

Yes it is. Thank you. It is an amazing car. I have only 399+ km on right now - 2000 or so to go to break her in; but, what I have experienced so far is amazing. Went into a curve the other day and accelerated out of it and she just held her line like a cart-amazing.
Break-in is done at 800 KM, correct me if I am wrong, but that is when the redline moves. Then you can really enjoy it, because the sound of the exhaust when it is switching fom 1st to 2nd is amazing. Plus launch control!!

2400 Km??? I thought? I always drive in "sport" mode.

James, get out and drive that puppy!!!
Yes. I am waiting for a guy to come and apply ceramic coating to my car - high end stuff. Described it like this: the clear coat over my paint is a 3 in terms of hardness - after the ceramic coating a ten. Next day comes back and applies something else - a spray of some kind. Can't wait. I have to do something with the interior to protect it and make it easy to clean if I get some dirt on it as well.

From one Red Mist to another nice colour. The car does corner awesome.
Only thing I have driven that compares to it is a 4 wheel drive Porsche Turbo. But the C8 does get more looks especially with that colour.
Your absolutely correct time is the most precious commodity we have make the most of it.
Hope to meet you on one of the BCCC get togethers or on the road one day.

MSRP's are set by the manufacturer to protect their market share with end customers. It is not set for retailers to go higher. It is set so it can go lower by the retailer for sales (On Sale for a limited time etc.) If all retailers go high it usually reduces the market share for that company all else being equal. Yes, these are not cans of beans or facial tissues we are talking about, but the principals are the same. GM does NOT like it when dealers sell over MSRP, but as long as demand is higher than supply it seems some can and will get away with it. If the GM dealers sold their high demand, high supply trucks at a premium, there would be a ton more F150's than there already are.
Didn't quite follow all the rational here, but I personally believe over list is wrong. Market share is determined by production numbers, demand and selling out. If all production is sold, the market share is predetermined regardless of price. That being said, what would one do if they were given a 'one of one' car with no chance of follow up production? The moon? Is it easy to buy a Ford GT at $500,000? Dealers in Canada are not franchised but often referred to as such. They work under a dealers agreement. Laws protect consumers as well as dealers. Manufacturers set MSRP for comparison values, suggesting this is an appropriate selling price and creates a level playing field between dealers. Dealers may sell for more if the purchaser is made aware. Dealer may sell for less but awareness never comes into play :) Wait for the Electric Hummer or review some past Ford Raptor sales. No matter the manufacturer, high demand/low production produces the same result.
My humble opinion of 'over list' is it creates a poor business model for the dealer. When production and demand level off, prices will adjust. The dealer will not be able to make a deal with the customers he charged a significant premium on. Their trade in value will more than likely be lower that the original list loosing some depreciation plus the surplus. The loyal (list) customer that watched as his car sell for 30 k more at some point, then fall can actually walk into the dealer and trade up 3 or 4 years for very little money while enjoying the car he had. *Better business model* Example- Dealer sells 1st car at list- Customer trades 4 years later (only paying HST on the difference) and dealer sells him a second one at list- now the dealer has a 3 or 4 year old one owner trade to sell and almost the same gross profit. Hmmmmm.
Can't, can and shouldn't are three different things. No one is getting away with anything and this is just my opinion.
Dealers that don't sell over list will not advertise that fact. They are busy trying to get orders filled for the customers they have relationships with. It hurts when one of those customers takes advantage of the dealer and the demand in the market, selling for 30k more than they paid. They can do it ........ once.
TidBit: 1990 Corvette ZR1's predominantly went over list, some almost double. 1991 Corvette ZR1 went predominatly for list.

I was out in Langley on Sunday showing my car to Graham at his place. He has a get together every year at his place except the last two. Great roads around Langley for driving. Take care - hope we meet as well.

taking it for an oil change tomorrow in Kelowna; insured until Nov 20. Iā€™m hoping for a clear Fall day or two before then for a little top down, heat cranked cruising but the forecast does not look promising. Non Z51 car so my tires are legal lol.

So, you bought in Kelowna? I assume before they started adding $10K onto the MSRP, I can't believe how many corvettes they sell? My friend in Richmond bought his 2021 from them at MSRP. Crappy rainy weather here. I am waiting for guy to come and ceramic coat my car.

I don't see the Stingray R decals that go on the door at the bottom front.

The package includes the wheel centres, door decals and stinger stripe.

Did you tell them to leave them off?
No they are all there and it looks sweet. Really nice looking.

I did buy in Kelowna. I paid MSRP but I ordered a long time ago. Also there was a mistake on my order (interior colour) that was too late to change so they ordered me another car. Then they made their $$$ on my initial order lol. And I waited.
