Paint peeling around headlight

I stand up for myself, what about you?
I carry myself in a way, that I don't have to stand up for myself very often, and when I do, its an issue that is way outside of purview of small claims court.
I would say I get treated fairly most of the time, and if not, I can easily navigate a solution. If this would happen to my car, I would request the dealer to repaint it, but I would never expect for the dealer to replace PPF that did not come applied from the factory.

Their body shop is so busy it won’t be until 17 July before the car can even get in. The right headlight also have is a very tight spot and I’m hoping it doesn’t chip the paint on that side as well.
I might just pull the inner fender wells out myself and see if I can make a small adjustment trying to prevent any further chipping of the paint.

Here is an example. Let's say an arm guide loses, do not know the real term, loses a felt and you had your windows tinted. It then after lowering or closing the window, scratches your tint and the car is still under warranty. The dealer should pay for the felt repair and replace the scratched tint. So if something happens to the paint, under my ppf and it's not my fault, good customer service would be to replace the ppf, for free. IMO. If they don't, then I think scc is the way to go, if they won't budge. This ppf is not cheap. Maybe they will, if he had the ppf done at the dealership. Scc is a last resort.

I would not expect the dealer to pay to replace my window tint as it didn’t come on the car from the factory and it’s not the dealer’s fault that the factory screwed up. I would ask if warranty would cover it, if they say no, then I would not waste even a minute of my time over it and spend 80$ to get it redone and move on with my day.

Customer service is important and if you don’t feel like you are getting it, take your business elsewhere, but don’t try to intimidate, threaten, nickel and dime a business or they would show you the door.

That was an example . It's like my C7, when I broke a gimbal. They said, not covered because I modified it. All I did was put drag radials and they said it was a modification!!! So you pay. Bullshit! I said, no problem, we will meet in Scc. We settled, out of court. I saved 850$ . If I say nothing, I pay 1350$. As for going to another dealership, yes but after we agree on the problem, or... Besides ppf is going to cost him more than 80 $. Sometimes it is not about the money but the principles.

I kind of agree with Denis. Here's an example.
My neighbour was always making insurance claims. His freezer failed. He fell asleep on the beach and had jewelry stolen etc.
My wife unfortunately asked him to remove a dead bird from the backyard when I was at work. He stumbled over a rain downspout and wanted me to open a claim with our insurance company. I denied his request and he threatened to sue me. I relented and complained to my insurer that they shouldn't entertain his request. He replied that they have put him on a nuisance list and he would be denied insurance in the future and he'd have to buy high risk insurance at substantially higher rates.

So IMO you save things like small claims court for things that are totally necessary. Time is money and has to be added to the equation.

That is what I have been saying. You people think I bring anything to SCC! I am 65 and I have gone to SCC or court 4 or 5 times, at most, for hidden defects on cars or homes/houses. As for dealers who would show me the door, their lost, as I have bought, at least, 50 vehicles, in my lifetime, why, put me on a nuisance lists, why . I have boycotted certain dealers because of shady dealings , they do not have to show me the door. My mention of SCC is a suggestion , as a last resort. As for insurance claims , once for my home because of fire and for cars , GOD, has made sure nothing has happen for my cars and homes, for 16 years, cars, and for my homes it has been 43 years since my last claim. As for dings , scratches I do the repairs, not my vehicles but my bumper car, driving wife. I have been retired for 12 years now and I worked on 12 hour days so I had plenty of time to do things during the week because I worked every other weekend, so no money wasted. No dealer wants to go to SCC because they lose their rep. Again , as a last resort, if you think you are being screwed, mention SCC and often it is enough . They will settle out of court and will not try to mess with you again.

You see? You ARE on lists. It could be all word of mouth or credit checks etc. This is all public record.
I hear you. Last resort, but if you've done it that many times it isn't last resort IMO.
Anyway, if it works for you then I'm glad.

What list? Where do you get I am on a list? I did mention how many.

Ok then , that is a good list. Of course that is my theory, because I have never seen a list or been told that I am a pain as a customer. I was brought up to stand up for myself , if done wrong.
Any insurance claims are shared. SCC proceedings are a matter of public record. Your credit score is recorded. Your drving record is recorded. Man you are on a ton of lists. LOL. Just don't get on any bad ones OK? ;)

:) Ok, yes, you are right, about that kind of lists. Right now , no speeding tickets for the last 13 years, thank GOD. No claims , like I said, etc . I am blessed. We really do not have much privacy. Have a great day Murray.

Noticed the dreaded headlight paint peel. I think its because the front bumper is slightly misaligned. Will check in with a dealer regarding fixing this up.

My dealer couldn’t look at mine until July 19, I pulled my left wheel off, inner fender well out and adjusted the bumper to the fender. Had red touch up paint that match perfect.

I was aware of the problem by the headlights so kept a eye on it . Went on a large trip 2 weeks ago started with 1400 km and ended up with 4500 km.. Half way through my trip I noticed the dreaded paint chips by the headlights like Fritzn Around I have not talked to the dealer yet. The front end had the PPF done by a shop recommended by the dealer as they don't do the PPF themselves. The C8 was delivered last Nov. so 90% of the km. were put on this spring

Just came back from Corvette Adventures in Wisconsin and talked to number of owners who had the same problem. Most had the headlights and fender adjusted and the chip touched up could not myself see the repair.

My car has PPF on everything from the windshield forward, including the front bumper. GM would not cover the cost of replacing it and I was told I would also need to wait six weeks before the PPF could be reapplied, no way was I letting the car sit in my garage for another six weeks. Once the front bumper was adjusted in most of the chipped paint was hidden by the headlight and the red touch up paint I used is for plastic and is a perfect match for the Corvette red.
