ToVetteFan:
I think you meant Spring Mountain (not Valley).
I was there in 2006.... awesome track, facility, and people.... well worth the experience.

In any case.... for all of you who were wondering...... TADA.....

I have cancelled my order with my dealer and they are going to refund my deposit, and
I have bought the "used" C7 for sale on eBay (by a small dealer).

It is EXACTLY what I want, plus it is 3LT (instead of 2LT) plus red calipers,
and has only 1400 miles on it.
I am making arrangements for payment, and shipping/brokering, etc. this week.

Whooooboy, I might even have it for the last autocross of the year (Sept 13),
but I am not banking on this. It will just be nice to have one, finally.

Yes, of course, Spring Mountain, thanks for the correction... That will teach me to type while I am doing something else... It has changed so much since '06, in fact just the last 2 years. The accommodations at the track are terrific, far superior to anything in the town itself.

Congrats on the purchase... Too bad you can't go get the car and drive it back, it would use up some of the kilometers to get it to a point where it will have Canadian warranty.

first place,
probably not....

I am getting my $$$$ in place .... that will take until Monday or Tuesday.
Then my broker/shipper will handle all the rest.
Getting the Title to US customs 3 days in advance of crossing the border,
picking the car up (enclosed trailer) in Boston,
transport to Washington state (5 days), inspections, other bits and pieces.....

But I do hope to have it by about Sept 8 or so.
We do have a race Sept 13, that we (my wife and I) really would love to enjoy.
The last 9 races we have merely been instructors....
watching and helping people learn to drive their cars around the track.
That is nowhere near as exciting as actually racing ourselves.

Very important not to forget the "recall letter" from a GM dealer.
The process does seem over whelming at first. But once you do it once it is very simple the next time.
If you are importing the car privately you do not need a customs broker as they will only be charging you to fill out the Form 1.

I do it 600 times a year (with trailers).

If you are as anxious as I was, you likely won't sleep much!

I would say post pictures when you get it, but the pics of the car on ebay where spectacular!

Yeah, I have done this a few times... first time (1993) I did it myself... real easy.
Second time (2004) I did it myself.... a little bit of work.
Last 2 times (2008, 2012) I let a broker handle it...
the US customs, the Federal inspection, the Provincial inspection... I'd rather let them do it all now... and they deliver right to my door, ready to license and drive.

Sorry Jeff,
I forgot to post a few pics.
Here ya go

Sooooooo freaking jealous! Nice wheels!~ Every time I see shots like this I get so tempted to just cancel the Z order, find one on a lot and grab it... then the wife tells me to shake my head and get back to reality!

Beautiful C7, the roadster looks really good in Black (no idea why someone would buy a black car though!). Will that big red blotch on the passenger door come out with some compound??

Honestly she is a beauty, best of luck with it. :canada:
