Always interested to hear from people inside GM. He confirmed something I had heard before but haven't been able to confirm and that is the second round of allocations was 12 cars and that's why I didn't mention it yesterday.I was told today from a GM guy I think is correct.....but just never know. As we all know the first 15 pushed back. The second round of corrected allocation was 12 cars with 2 cars carried over from the first 15. My contact said a total of 40 retail cars only will be for Canada in 2023 unless restrictions change. Originally GM wanted 900 cars built before end of the year (2022) and they expect just under 300. Yet we all know this could just be talk.......
You mention an interesting point and that is if there were 2 carry overs from the original 15, that means there's another 15 Z06 allocations for this year that nobody has heard of to bring us to 40 cars for Canada. After the initial blow up, it wouldn't surprise me if another 15 have been very "quietly" given out like the one I heard about that went to Barry Cullen's in Guelph that missed on the first and second go round.
Your in good shape because your car is on the way to Carters. Earlier this year I moved from a 2020 Coupe to a 2023 HTC which I avoided paying luxury tax on by 2 days. Now I am next up for my Z06 and the question is will February be the next allocations for us, and the big question will the big options be available the next time around? I spoke to someone else today who is next up and we expect March builds for the next allocations but there's no way of know what constraints will be 3 months from now.
