One Man vs. GM: My C7 Corvette Experienced Engine Failure at 45,000 KM

For the C7 and Gen 6 LT1, the Range device solves that issue for all driving modes. Unfortunately not for the C8 which requires driving in manual mode.

AFM is an attempt by car manufacturers to placate the environmental gvmt agencies. (Oh look here, see what we did to help the environment). It does zero for engine performance. Did we buy performance sports cars to save a few cents on fuel. Puleeese.

I will leave it to the engineers that design the motors to fess up and tell us the truth regarding long term reliability. While patiently waiting, the Range device is firmly attached to the OBDII port in my car.

My C7 is a manual so no AFM unless I switch into ECO mode, which I have never done. I run Sport mode all the time with engine management setting on track.

C8 in Z mode/auto won't go into cylinder deactivation mode .

Looks like another new member has "ghosted "us again...
Perhaps Jack, but on this Forum, it's more important that we tell people what they should hear instead of what they want to hear!

They might have a day job......
Perhaps but in a situation like this, I would have thought the new member from BC would be keeping an eye on his first thread and responding.
The deadline for GM to do something has passed and my feeling is he will need to fix the car himself.
