Just got back from working up in the Arctic. Thought I would share this cool picture I took. If it looks like something from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, that is intentional. FYI, it was -41 with the wind chill.

All modern stuff up there. No speakers, they play through your FM stereo. -41F, means it is time to put a light jacket on and put the summer sandals away. I would say radar.

It is one of two very large radar structures. My guess is that it is for transmission purposes since it is permanently facing south. The site is called Fox Main Long Range Radar site located in Hall Beach, Nu. Lucky me, I get to go to Cambridge Bay next in a couple of weeks.

That particular type of radar unit can detect an Imperial Walker at 70 clicks.

It is a former DEW line site.......Lucky me, I get to visit all 56 of them.
