New Member and Car

Well it's starting ahead of schedule. The car had a odd pull to left under accell, and a pull to the right under decell. Jacked up the car today and the LR wheel had about a 1/2 inch play. Brgs shot. So insurance will be canceled and frame off started today. Both rear mounts look like the one pictured. The rust where the frame kicks up and the other side which is pretty good.

I found reminents of a side hit to the LF. Where the lower A arm attaches to the frame has been bent and straightened. Looks like it could be repaired better. So I will have to find out if it is worth work or look for another frame.image.jpg
Looks like it was bent upward and in at one time.

The opposite side has a crack but looks straight. Needs a little grinding and welding.

Looks like someone didn't get it back together correct. LOL

Body is ready to come off except for the RH aluminium piece where it goes along the bottom of the body along the frame.
I removed all of the front end bumper and lights. RH light needs work and I won't have to worry about all the weight hanging on the front Fiberglas.

Bolt was like this after the door was removed. Easy to remove that one LOL

More shoddy work RH light hinge is broke and this was the attempt to make it work. Bubba.

So I may be shopping for a frame, let me know if any know of a good frame in Alberta.

You could try Haler Concepts, or there was a guy on Kijiji around Red Deer that had a Corvette Boneyard and advertised parts once in awhile.

Or I could just sell you my 75, save you a lot of work, and I would get some room back in my garage

My body and frame divorced last night LOL May have found a 1980 with a bend that my be able to be messaged out at a frame shop.
Any recommendations Don?

Never had much to do with straightening a frame.. But I think Popow's in Lacombe has a Frame Shop

IMHO.. :-)
Get a non damaged frame.
wait and keep looking everywhere. snow is coming and people are gonna start sacrificing projects for storage.
I see it on kijiji all the time.
My LT1 is mostly kijiji deals. patience pays off.

Went to look at some yesterday and decide to pass. Did get anemail from someone stating he has a strait rust free 78 frame. Just waiting for a reply back. Hoping this works out.

Yep the new frame has been stripped. I gusseted the motor mounts and the lower rear A arms. Frame is at the sandblasters. Should be ready the beginning of next week for POR15. I'll take some picks as I go.

image.jpeg New old frame blasted. After welding in gussets on front end. Cut out a few iffy areas and repaired. POR 15 3 step yesterday.
PS don't get POR 15 on you hands it don't come off off.
More picks to come.
