New C8, what are the "must dos"?

I think I’m figuring out this sites resident chit disturber/funny guy. Lol
Not sure if anyone had mention to get the Soler Throttle controller.
Get them through many of the aftermarket suppliers here in Ontario or in the US for security and quicker throttle response.

Alarm Bells went off when you mentioned "PPF" lol...
In Alberta this is almost mandatory. They use very rocky sand on the roads and it isn't cleaned up until well into our short "summer car season". I do it to all my vehicles. My 2017 Titan (personal truck) still looks great while my 2023 F150 (company truck with no PPF) is pretty rashed up already. I had it on the front and lowers on my Hellcat (sold to buy Vette) as well.

Before you put the link in there I thought you were making a funny...

In any case, I have a Peddle Commander on my Titan and it works well. I don't see the need to monkey with the throttle on sports cars...never used one on my Hellcat. Wide open is wide open, hehe.

Got the car home yesterday. PPF is done and I have a bunch of stuff on order...front screens, rock guards (mud flaps), lift pucks.

The only "owners manual" is the myChevy app pages and it's a PITA to read on my phone. The Chevy manuals website doesn't have one for 2026 yet. While I assume 99% will be the same as previous years, a lot of the interior electronics stuff is different.

Waaaay to many tech whizmos....I am disappointed that you have to sign into Google in order to store radio stations. I plunked a USB with music on it into the slot in the center console...can't seem to get it to play the songs in random order. Dumb. Wants to use Apple carplay in order to play tunes off my phone. Dumb.

I was sure I've read multiple times that the motor is limited until 800 km. On my drive home yesterday I did at one point gently push the throttle and definitely went past 4500 rpm. Going to be a difficult time getting 800 km without doing long drives or using cruise control...basically Chevy wants you to city drive it the first 800 km....and I don't live in the city.
It's not recommended to use cruise control. You want to vary the rpm as much as possible during break in . And avoid engine braking. Also it's probably a good idea to keep it in manual mode so it doesn't go into cylinder deactivation.

The LT2 engine in C8 Corvettes (like Stingray models) follows Chevrolet's standard new vehicle break-in procedure for the first 1,500 miles (2,414 km). This ensures proper seating of piston rings, bearings, and other components for long-term performance.
First 200 Miles (322 km)
Drive at moderate speeds to break in tires and avoid hard cornering or abrupt stops for new brake linings. Engine torque is limited in low gears during the initial 500 miles.
First 500 Miles (800 km)
Avoid full-throttle starts and abrupt stops.
Do not exceed 4,000 RPM.
Vary speeds; avoid constant speeds or cruise control.
Do not downshift if RPM will exceed 4,000.
Never lug the engine—shift early if needed (applies always).
First 1,500 Miles (2,414 km)
No track events or aggressive driving. Check engine oil with every refuel, as consumption may be higher initially. No mandatory 500-mile oil change for LT2, unlike some LT1/LT4 variants.
The LT2's modern design (cast iron liners, moly-coated rings) seats quickly, so follow GM guidelines without aggressive "Italian tune-up" methods. First service is at 7,500 miles.

Good point. Z mode keeps it from doing that too doesn't it?
Yes. If you have selected track engine mode in the Z settings. In track mode it will never go into cylinder deactivation . Easiest thing to do is simply press the M button. I have mine in manual mode 95% of the time regardless , even if it's in Tour , Sport or any other except Weather.

Manual is a pain. I don't bother any more. It's just not the same as a stick and clutch pedal.

Not if you have the LT6 behind you. 🤔 M mode 99% of the time except for pulling away from my neighbourhood in the morning.
It doesn't matter what motor you have, it's just not as much fun as a stick and pedal.

wow.... A bit of a rebirth for you Murray... I remembering us fencing with each other over how the DCT is no different than the paddles in my auto Lincoln....(which I never use either) lol....

No, what I don't like is when people compare a DCT to a slush box or say it's not a manual transmission.
It IS a manual tranny that can shift automatically, just not the same as a stick and pedal tranny

no worries... I was just yanking your chain.... ;)

I know you were, but because of your reputation on here, people might think you were right. lol
Funny thing is even if there was a stick option for the C8 I wouldn't have been allowed to buy one. The Missus wanted an auto and I wanted an affordable mid engine sports car. Catch 22. Luckily it's a DCT.
