Neutral release bracket .

And here is the red spring pin type on Ebay .
That is the Boostdistrict one but sold by one of their distributors. I remembered it use to cost around 170 usd when I bought mine last year. Instead of using their release (no issue), I had replace mine with a push to release ss type vs their pull to release. That just me looking to improvement. Lol.

They have their specialty bespoke hand tool that cost upward of $1k/very expensive tool basically does the same thing. That's what the Boostdistrict vid. said I think.
Except you have to keep your hand on it the entire time as it doesn't lock in place . Take the pressure of it and the parking pawl engages again. Pretty slack on the part of the GM designers .

I think it was 1K for the whole C8 kit. Included a few other things, but I can't remember what.

Tow hook but that was about it . Crazy price . I just managed to get the Boost District spring pin type ordered from Paragon after 5th attempt. Did get a couple of prompt emails from them asking me to try again as they just changed their payment processor yesterday. Dropped the Canadian shipping cost as well. Pretty lame on the part of GM , you would think they could have come up with a cable release like for the frunk or something. Imagine the battery or fuel pump or some other gremlin showing up and the engine quits at a busy intersection......

No, there is / was more to it than that. I was considering purchasing it in 2020. It's been 5 years and have no idea where I have the info now, but I'm pretty sure there was more. I remember GM or someone saying it was a must for dealers to purchase it. Likely not now, but that's what I heard at the time.

Edit: From John on midengine in August of 2020.

The answer to your question as to tools is that a dealership can not work on nor sell a C8 unless they have purchased the C8 specific tool package (total cost of $1,454).

Interesting to review them one by one. The most expensive one, a tool we expected to be on it, is a specialized “transmission support/service feature” (a cradling jack @ $441), e.g., a DCT transaxle is a costly piece. Then there is a manual park release wrench at $331; also required for such work is the $57 “support mount transmission table.” Another major one is the $200 “engine support fixture adapter.” All of these things we are not surprised to see for servicing a mid engine vehicle.

The rest are 10 more minor tools costing a total of less than $400 collectively.

How are you using this ? I'm not picking up what you're trying to lay down, lol.

I do recall seeing that info somewhere before. I was referring to the kit with the GM recommend release tool/lever kit . I have seen this for as much as $1200 !
Problem with it as I see it is that you have to keep your hand on it the entire time as it doesn't lock in place . Awkward to say the least. I ordered the spring pin locking one this morning from Paragon as I mentioned and got a shipped notification half an hour later..... this is the other one I referred to
