Well it has been just 3 days of ownership and 800 kms later, I can say yes, it is on a different level than the SR. Not saying a SR is a bad car. With a much higher price point for a Z06, you would expect the experiences that matches the asking price?
This car is not just about the LT6 but the whole pkg including the PFC.
Eventhough I have 1LZ trim, it is so much more capable than my Z51 SR in every way; handling, braking, the beautiful widebody, and icing on a cake is the exhaust.
The power is one of a few things you need to adjust to amount other things in the good way of course. On the trip home from the dealership, there was enough power to get around slower traffic and to spare even at the limited breaking in rpm of 6.5k. It may be just be as fast a SR even at the restricted rpm. That would be a competitive race? I haven't yet gone past 6.5k because I got so much speed out of it already. It is so easy to speed that you need to check your speedo often. And the myth of the "no torque" is proven wrong and that the driver doesn't know how to drive this car. We have the super quick DCT, so use it properly. Lol.. I can easily get around slower traffic at 3k rpm and no need to rev it out pass 6k for daily driving.
Gas mileage is around the same as the SR. Cruising around at 1.8-2k rpm.
I don't have the good fortune to own other high-end vehicles to compare this car to, but from the consensus on the web, the Z06 is right up there.
So I am very lucky. Can't wait till next spring/summer.
