My engine light is on, replaced cap, no fix, when tested by my GM retired engineer, it says, evaporator, emission system, vent valve/solenoid circuit. It looks like it is code P049, likely, but could be code P046. Anyone know an easy fix. For me it is likely a trip to my dealer, but sure don't want to spend big dollars. Any suggestions on what dealer costs would be?

the code is actually P0449, not P049 or P046 S/B P0446

There's this, or can tire, or princess auto, etc

There is no easy fix, just replace it. I did it myself, as I recall had to remove passenger side muffler to get at it.

Also does anyone have a good independent corvette mechanic in the markham area?
Champion motors was recommended and it was the Po449code, new solenoid and an updated harness fixed the problem, happy camper now and Champion Motors was great to work with.

Good news, the problem was P0449, emission solenoid circuit. Champion Motors (recommended by Forum members) fixed the problem, replacing the solenoid and installing a new harness (being recommended by GM). Am using Champion now for my C6.
