Question Memory Saver for Winter Storage

14 years now using battery maintainer/tenders on five different vehicles and no explosions or fires yet. Batteries in my ATV my diesel truck, hunting truck, tractor and Corvettes are older than dirt and still work like new. Methinks everyone's choice for their battery is just fine but I will stick with mine.

If I didn`t capture such an incident happen on camera, I would agree with you. Prior to that, I would leave my battery connected while charging overnight, after that I never plug anything into the car other than the block heater and that`s only if really needed.

However, in cases where you absolutely must connect a fuel powered vehicle to the mains, the minimum safety requirement is a tested & working GFCI outlet to plug into. All it takes is a rodent to chew through the wiring or a short caused by snow or water to start a fire.
