Looking for a 4 post lift

Mine just sits free, I have in floor heating in the garage, My luck I would hit a heating coil if I tried to install anchors.

It is still solid.

my 4 post sits free too.

I would hate to have my car on one with a mag 7 or 8 earthquake - make sure you check with your insurance for coverage out in Victoria. It was a $300 year premium for hoist insurance on my business policy, but mainly use it for more room for cars in my shop, cheaper then getting more sq footage!

Nelson84, I picked up a LiftKing 9000 from Thunder Valley in Red Deer. (403) 896-7258

I am very happy with the lift, it has 10 lock positions, an external welded lock ladder and a secondary safety pin for the top position.

:D First page. :D

The Danmar 7000 looks very similar to the lift king 9000. Looks to be either model to be a good lift. I found the Danmar to be $3199.99. Need to search out the lift king. But The Danmar is close in Lethbridge at princess auto. I should check harbor freight in the USA. There is n duty on a lift but there is the stinkin exchange rate.

You might be able to just tilt the door tracks slightly so they angle up towards the ceiling. Easy to do, I just took an angle grinder and beveled the joint where the track curves and lifted the free end to a higher position and reattached it to the supports.

I limited the door travel so the Lift didn't have to sit to far forward, taking up more shop space.

I would prefer to buy in Alberta and pick it up and save on the shipping and the PST.

Who has a 4 post lift at home.

Four years ago I looked into the four post hoist and found a deal through Carlift and both my neighbour and I ordered one. A week later it got delivered to our homes. The cost of the unit was approx 2100.00 delivered but then an installer wanted another 2000.00 for the install.

We decided to tackle the job ourselves. Took 11 hours for the first hoist install and only 7 hours for the second install. We went with the 220 volt install as it helps the motor and is a little quicker on the lift. We bolted the units down as we had no intention to move anything. The challenge was getting the garage doors to lift all the way up to open to the ceiling height. We went to a garage door install place, paid for a couple of extensions and
lifted the springs up as well. (Big caution with the spring if you have never done them before.). One more thing, we welded the ramps on hinges and bolted them to the frame so when the hoist lifts up the ramps go up as well and are out of the way. Not sure why this is not sold as an option as I am sure many people would go for this option.

Sorry Nelson... can't remember the make. It was a very inexpensive one from out West. About $2000 delivered to a warehouse 10 minutes from my house then I used a rental truck to carry it to my driveway. Son and I, with occasional help from a neighbour for the heavy bits, assembled it in about 10 - 12 hours spread over a week.
Happy with it. Great value IMHO.

I love a good deal. I'm cheap.

I found advantage lifts in alberta near red deer. These lifts look very similar to the back yard buddy but a better price. I was quoted $5500 for the backyard buddy in US dollars. Advantage lifts are $3200 Canadian and look like a real strong lift.

RestoMod DX 4 post car storage will be the best choice if you are looking for a classic sports car or such models. It has a capacity of 8,000 lb and its compact design allows installation in a space less than 120 sqft.
