I am having my installed at the dealership. They said that it is factory approved fwiw or for what it means? It is not cheap but I have no idea what's the cost of an aftermarket ones either?Just wondering if anyone has had an immobilizer installed on their c8 or z06 recently. Which one do you recommend, and what did it cost installed?
Any suggestions for a place in Markham/Richmond hill?
What one is it?I am having my installed at the dealership. They said that it is factory approved fwiw or for what it means? It is not cheap but I have no idea what's the cost of an aftermarket ones either?
I don't know know how well it works until I get possession in spring
Does it not just plug in to the OBDII connector?I read some people are using the Soler Throttle Controller as an anti-theft device. You can disable the throttle via the app. There are also factory settings for the controller itself so throttle response doesn't have to feel any different if you don't want it to.
Soler controller
I lot cheaper than $2k and looks easy enough to install.
It installs via a wiring harness that plugs inline with the throttle harness.Does it not just plug in to the OBDII connector?
So it's easy to disable. It installs via a wiring harness that plugs inline with the throttle harness.
Just a thought but how about this as an option ? Simple self install and you can buy 26 of them for the dealer price.I am having my installed at the dealership. Not so easy if you don't know what to look for. Keep in mind the engine would be running before the thief realizes something is wrong. Can't see them diving under the dash looking for wiring harnesses to unplug and replug while the owner is looking for the shotgun. So it's easy to disable.
Its unfortunate .... but in todays world at least 1 firearm should be easily accessible while at home ...Not so easy if you don't know what to look for. They also have guns. You want a shoot out?Its unfortunate .... but in todays world at least 1 firearm should be easily accessible while at home ...
Yes!!! If they want my stuff they are gonna have to earn it.They also have guns. You want a shoot out?
It's just not worth a car to kill someone or be killed.Yes!!! If they want my stuff they are gonna have to earn it.
Just winding you up. Unfortunately it is against the law to whack a car thief. Lucky for him. I see it as a public service. No more cars stolen by him. Somehow I have to get him to threaten my life and then it is lock and load. To just sit on my hands and watch my car leave the yard would haunt me for years. Canadian law loads that situation in the thief's favour. It's just not worth a car to kill someone or be killed.
Yes, they do, but the reasons are understandable, while not necessarily the best ones. Loss of possessions is covered by insurance. I think you'd be haunted a lot longer if you killed someone. I have known others who have and they were haunted. Only the thief wins. There is a saying in law. I paraphrase, but it's better to let 10 guilty go free than to convict one innocent.Canadian law loads that situation in the thief's favour.
We should soon see that work being done. Hopefully sooner rather than later.Yes, they do, but the reasons are understandable, while not necessarily the best ones. Far too many obviously guilty are let out on bail. There is a lot of work to be done in that area.
I wouldn't hold your breath. The court system is far too overloaded as is the prisons / jails. There will be cutbacks not extras coming. We should soon see that work being done. Hopefully sooner rather than later.
