So I,am thinking with the HTC engine cover under the roof storing compartment ,about cutting the center out of that plastic cover and bonding a clear Lexan sheet so you can see the engine with the body top cover is raised?Thoughts anybody?Just an idea I am tossing around.

So maybe what is needed is a quick, release cover that can be released without having to remove a couple dozen screws.Be handy for car shows and quick, visual, checks.
I understand the heat insulation to prevent damage to the roof when lowered so Proably should be kept intact with any mod.

Have you SEEN an HTC engine with the heat shield off? I’ve seen a video of it. There are NO visual adornments whatsoever unlike the coupe. You’d want to dress it up me thinks. But I do agree that a better system to remove the cover could be handy.

Yes I have saw whats there. Its the same as the coupe but without the top cover. My plan was to dress it up if I were to do a mod.The optional engine cover etc
Dont understand the fascination with seeing the engine. Not viewable on many high end mid/rear engine cars. Perhaps if you attend car shows it matters. JMO though, each to their own.

I could care less about going to car shows. It amounts to trying to show off. Not my game. My HTC gets enough looks rolling down the street.
Ya, I was delivering gifts today and came to a light that just went red as I got there. I wanted to turn right so I wait patiently for the 3 cross traffic cars to go, but they just stare at me even though the light was green for them. So I turned right while they stared. I get way too much of that. It gets dangerous.
Another time I'm at a stop sign (not 4 way) to turn left and the idiot coming to the intersection stops. I wait and he doesn't move. Usually I'd wait regardless, but instead I got tired of waiting and I made my turn in front of him. I was so pissed at him I didn't notice that a truck was approaching the intersection from the other direction and I came too close to cutting him off!

Well some of seeing the fancy engine is part of the mystic of owning exotic cars. Not many of them when you open the the back ,that you do not see the motor. But yes each to his own.I am so use to opening the hood on my Vettes to check the engine over to make sure all is ok,besides liquid levels,It would be nice to be able to have quick look , without removing two dozen screws.Just saying. Not going to see the motor anyways on a HTC vrs a coupe driving it around regardless.

Before choosing the coupe, I was also thinking of printing a sticker or asking my niece to paint the engine on the black cover for me, she is really talented.

I found this online. That’s what’s the cover looks like and how the engine look underneath

Looking at the pics thinking maybe rigging up,a hinge on the back straight edge so,all, you have to do his undo a couple clips on the opposite side and tilt up,for a quick, view.

Pick up a plastic engine cover, keep it in the trunk and slap it on top when its open.
