2015 z51
I ordered a Z 51 Sept 5 , I talked to the dealer yesterday and it is still just an accepted order, does anyone have a good idea as to just how long before I might see the car.

hi ERG , this reply is based on my experience in the forums and delivery / purchase experience on my 2015 C7 Z51 .
"allocation" is the important word here...not accepted. All orders are accepted - they would never refuse an order. It all depends on how many allocations your dealer has and where you are on that list. Ask the dealer outright about his allocations. And if there others ahead of you. Find out how many c7's he delivered last year and he should get at least the same amount for 2015 (more or less). I've also heard that there will not be any deliveries until late spring up here in Canada. Also depends on if you ordered a Z51 or base model. Base is easier to get.
I ordered mine in Feb 2014 and finally got it on dec 23rd ( a 2015) GM gave my dealer the allocation for my car in mid November, it was built week of December 8th and arrived at the dealer on dec. 22nd. I got lucky with shipping...sometimes takes over a month to arrive due to rail shortages/scheduling depending on where you are. Hope this helps.

Six months if you're lucky AND the dealership has the allocation to actually supply the car.:D Good luck.

erg, montreal-c7 is right, you need to ask about allocations.

A good dealer/salesman ( like Owais ) will tell you up front about the allocations they have and should get. Owais @Gateway in Brampton wouldn't take an order without an allocation being available. They'll put you on a list to call when they get an allocation but not put in a dummy order into the system so they can hope and take your deposit money.

Your order will sit in the GM workbench at status 1100 ( I think ), but until it goes to 2000 there is no guarantee it will be built ( it will only go to 2000 if the dealer has an allocation available for it to ), but once to 2000 it should progress fairly quickly after that, once you get past the winter slowdown for Canada deliveries.

Southern Ontario deliveries don't take the train so they get delivered fairly quickly from Bowling Green. My C7 Z51 I ordered March 29/2014 and took delivery on Jun 26/2014 so a 3 month timeline.

Hope this helps.

Mike

I ordered my 2015 Z51 coupe on June 18 from the dealer in Collingwood. Car entered Canada in late December. It still shows a code of 4P00 or interim delivery (it is somewhere between Windsor and the dealer).

Short answer: for me 6 to 7 months.

:(

Do you have your order status code? I placed my order September 30th and the last time i checked, (first of Dec) I was sitting at order status 2050.

Doug, any word yet
Tire cracking weather...hope it's not sitting outside.

Hi C7Jake

Sigh. Nothing yet. Was at the dealer yesterday. Event code has been at 4P00 since December 23rd. I am figuring with my luck it would have arrived today with temps in Collingwood at -19. My salesman Jeff said that when the car arrives they will need a few days to do the PDI stuff and the protection stuff. They have my VINDIC8R vanity plates and are going to register the C7 for me.

Jeff said, depending on weather, they are willing to escort my car home with a posse. That is a car leading and a car following to that no idiot slides into me. Hehe, maybe I can get an OPP escort [wry smile]. If it ends up being days of wet briny roads, I will have the Vette flat-bedded home.

This week has not been great weather so if delivery waits to next week (read as warmer temps) I will be okay with that. Got the barker lounger installed in the garage and a pile of snacks to munch on. When my crystal red C7 does arrive, I will spend quality time just gazing upon her - my version of reality TV.

BTW, I have sent a pic of your aero front plate mod to the dealer telling them to install the aero holder with the plate instead of the bigger clunky holder that sets up against the paint.

Be well,
Doug

Really long wait here in BC

I was about 10th on the waiting list of about 15 for a C7. I put my deposit down last January. By early Sept I was told I was the next one on the list and should be able to order about Sept 11th, then all the recalls and nothing since then. I have been checking all dealers here in Vancouver and nothing seems to be coming in. So I am hoping things get back to normal soon (now the winter break is over) and I can order later this month and get it by March

I ordered mine Nov 3 2014 it took 18 weeks before the order was picked up by GM which was last Wednesday. Just got my build date today.
It's different for everyone though some have been waiting up to a year.
