He wants to sell you a 2LT because he makes more money!Tell me my dealer keeps trying to bump me to LT-2 and l tell him alll want is a optioned out LT-1 because l don't want in 3 years to have to deal with all sorts of them computer gizmoes breaking down. They say well then get an extended warranty . My question is are they any good and what are the pro's and cons about them.

I have a 1LT and the mirror is a non issue after 4800 kms of use, HUD I don't want, blind spot etc...not needed if mirrors adjusted properly but the Bose 10 speaker is garbage.........trash...........rubbish........junk.......scrap....... you get the ideaThe extended warranty should cover any electrical issues you have, however assuming those issues arise you'll not be happy with your C8 in the shop being repaired instead of on the road with you behind the wheel. As well, it depends on how long you intend to keep the car: once the extended warranty runs out it's entirely your problem. But having said that, I'm not seeing a lot of electrical complaints involving the new C8 so perhaps the technology will work OK or maybe it's just too soon to know.
I think the decision depends on whether you think you'll enjoy the car more with those extra features and if so, you should bump it up to a 2LT to get them. The one thing many comment on is the camera in the mirror which compensates for the restricted view from behind the wheel of the C8. That seems to be a real "plus" for the 2LT package. On top of that of course, there's the other safety features such as the cross traffic alert and blind spot monitoring. The 14 speaker Bose sound system is supposed to be an improvement if you're seriously into tunes, plus the heads up display (HUD) is nice although a friend with a C7 tells me the C8 HUD doesn't have as much info as the C7 HUD, which I find surprising. As with anything, it's all a matter of choice based upon your preferences and weighing whether the extra cash is justified in your mind. Don't let the dealer talk you into anything you're not already sold on.
Can anybody tell me the ins and outs of extended warrantees ??
Meaning exactly whatI read somewhere that there is a setting to increase the bass, like `Bose ` boost is set to `off` by default
Makes no difference, once I put on my Sport Cats won't matter!I tried to edit the post, you enable Bose Autopilot . There is also a Youtube vid about this by your friend Knuch too
Read the fine print (not covered) items carefully Mark. You have up until the 3 year bumper to bumper runs out to purchase the extended warranty. I looked at the 7 year/84,000 km package for my 2015 in 2018, The dealer finance guy quoted me $3,300 for the package from FCPP. He didn't bother to tell me the 7 years started way back when I bought the car in 2015, and the 84,000 km also was total km, not 84k more than the 15,000km I had on it at the time. He also used the $1,400 headlight replacement as an example of the great protection. Oops... fine print said headlights were not covered. At another dealer who sells the GM extended warranty, he quoted the same price but by then I had researched enough to know the huge mark-up on the extended warranty. I waffled on the price and he immediately started dropping from $3,300 down to $2,500 by the time I said no thanks and left. My GM service manager friend advised me that the GM extended is considerably better than the FCPP when it comes to claims, for what that's worth. Typically FCPP requires the dealer to tear the car apart as much as necessary to assess if it will even be covered before they commit to paying the bill. If they deny, you are responsible not only for the repair, but for the tear down investigation as well. Extended warranty may make you sleep better at night but in my opinion, a warranty item will likely show up prior to the manufacturer bumper to bumper warranty running out and after that you still have the remainder of the 5 year on the power train. Again. Read the fine print well as there is a long list of things that are not covered. Extended is a cash grab in my opinion and I sleep fine at night without it. And be careful if they tell you for a few dollars more they have a plan that will refund your total cost if you never have to use the plan. Few have ever got their refund. Use Google for extended warranty reviews.....This is totally my opinion only on this and I'm sure somewhere out there extended warranty has actually paid for itself with someone. Can anybody tell me the ins and outs of extended warrantees ??
Thanks Bro l kind of figured it was all smoke and mirrors that only lined the dealers pockets with my money. lf l decide to go with it l will spend a few bucks 1st so my Lawyer can advise me on the one to go with.Read the fine print (not covered) items carefully Mark.
