Sadly unless you are going private you don't get to pick your own "home" You submit your top three and hope for a lottery win. We can afford a Senate but we can't afford enough long term care beds to ensure that a couple married 60 years can get into the same long term care facility?
People in their twilight need to get more proactive and aggressive, what have you got to lose when you'll be in the big sleep within a few years? Arming 80 year olds is the only way to ensure we all get the care we deserve.
