Thread revival.
Although my single car garage is next to useless with the car in it, I still needed more light.
Amazon. 8 four foot led tubes. Everything in the box, which weighed about a pound.....with all 8!
I was sceptical.
Here's before / after. (pics don't do justice)....

We put the T8 LED tubes in when we built the house. Works great in my two car.

The fixtures we bought specifically for the house to handle led (all the bulbs in our new build are led).

I can’t see converting an old florescent tube fixture to led being worthwhile. We paid 12 bucks a fixture for the “new” led capable overheads at Kent building supplies. Can’t see it being much less to convert an old fixture.

Went with four fixtures in the attached two car and two fixtures in the detached garage. Two is ok for light in a gargae where we essentially just park, 4 makes the whole garage nearly noon day sun light level...perfect for working on anything from the car to spinning out something on the metal lathe.
