I just got called to finalise my order. I put my deposit down June 2023 at Wilson Niblett. They told me I can't even get on the Z06 or ZR1 list. I do have my name on my local dealers Z06 list but they told me it would be 5 years. That was a year and a half ago.

Hi Gunslingre, is it supposed to be spelled Gunslinger? Exciting news for you and I am surprised that they called you on a Sunday to finalize. A couple of things, were you told they got an allocation for you on February 8th and confirmed the constraints last Thursday the 15th, so they could enter your car into the system by tomorrow?
This would confirm that they actually had an allocation to enter your car this month so that your build would move to 2000 status by this coming Wednesday or Thursday. What did you end up ordering? Were you offered the Q9l rims?
I know for a fact that the larger dealers still have over a hundred names on their Z06 lists and have now returned to the top of the lists for people that passed on non-Z07 allocations last year.
If your deposit is at Spencer's and you know what number you are on the list even though they do an combined E-Ray/Z06 list, you can do the math knowing they have received 13 Z06's including the first one we could track coming into Canada which was vin number 00095.

Sorry they actually called a few weeks ago and have been calling to get me to come in to finalise the order. Yes I do have gunslinger misspelt. It started as my gaming name many moons ago and the correct spelling was not available. It's actually ironic as I'm one of those annoying people that make a fuss over spelling etc. As my mom was an English teacher and was constantly correcting me.
Back to the Vette he did say it's imperative that I come in and get it done before the end of March so we don't lose it.
I'm on the list at Roy Nichols in Courtice. I would guess they get very few of them to begin with. I'm just hoping that as the economy has taken a hit that some people are going to say no when their name comes up.
I was at the car show on Friday hoping to see Riptide Blue, Hypersonic Grey or Sea Wolf grey in person. But no luck. My Stingray is black now and thought I'd get something different.
Unfortunately they had the Stingray and the Z06 parked close together and now I'm not even sure I want the regular one after seeing the Z06. And I'm not sure what to think of driving an automatic sports car. Although I know all the fancy cars have gone to that double clutch system.

It's an endless debate. Just wanted to point out that you can shift it manually. It is a clutch system just no pedal

It's "misspelled". "Spelt" is a grain. I hope your Mom doesn't read this...

I'll have to look for that endless debate on here. I've never driven one. I drove an older one with paddle shifters but I know it wasn't the same. Just a normal automatic with paddles. It was horrible. I like the fact that just anyone can't drive the standard. And it's more fun to me although I know it's not as fast.

HAHA if you corrected me on that you missed me using realise. I'm Irish so misspelt is correct. Unfortunately my mom passed away 3 years ago so I'm on my own for English corrections. My dad was a math teacher so he's of no use.
And here I thought Miss Pelt was an Irish beauty queen! ;)

When you used "realise", I thought you were an American who didn't know where Alberta was...

Ha! I'm no merican. (my best attempt at the accent). They use Zee. I'm Irish and Native Canadian. And I have travelled coast to coast more times that I can count on my hands and toes. ( used to race the Canadian National Superbike series) I have been going out west every year since birth and have used my Civic, Trans Am, Crosstrek and even the Stingray for the trip. As well as going to the Arctic Circle on my adventure bike. So in short I do know where Alberta is. Of course my parents drove me for a few of these years.
