Extended Warranty Update

Wish I have read this post before purchasing warranty from the finance manager yesterday when picking up my 2024 Eray 2LZ

I bought 3 extra years/80000km extended warranty for $2900 pre tax and that was including a $2000 credit from my c8 stingray trade in that I also bought extended warranty from

They claimed the previous stingray warranty can't be a cash refund

Did I get robbed?

3 extra years extended warranty $2900 w/$2000 credit, so i guess $4900
3 years maintenance plan $1800
3 years tire warranty $1400

@Mr.Corvette can hopefully fix this up for you. I suspect he will contact you as he has seen your post. And a big welcome to the best Corvette forum on the internet !

When I purchased my 2022 C8 last year, I called @LeDon and purchased extended WARRANTY ... was an amazing deal and a great piece of mind.

However after reading all the DCT nightmares, and the general cost of maintenance ongoing, I called Don Le 2 days ago and asked about a Pre Paid maintenance plan, and if I was too late as I have 29,500 kms currently. I need my oil changed now, and DCT in 2000 kms (so $1500+ dollars)

After chatting with him, I purchased an "Essential Care" plan for 4 years (or 48,000 kms) which starts now ... and covers all regular oil changes, DCT service (I will have 2 in the next 4 years) amongst a host of other regular things. Price was great, made it an easy decision !

In the end, I'm saving a LOT of money even purchasing it now. I paid for it yesterday and couldn't be happier. Now I'm covered for warranty and maintenance for the foreseeable future.

Its never too late to speak to Don !

I had a meeting with Don last Friday at his office to discuss exactly this solution for our members. David you also need to change your transmission fluid at 3 years after your car's original date of delivery and your plan will also cover the $1000 for that. I had 4 club members come up to me asking questions about the maintenance plan last night after our meeting as there is still a lot of confusion as to the maintenance schedule. I plan on having Don come and speak to my club as the maintenance plan is well worth the cost. One member mentioned he had just spent $1000 this week getting his transmission fluid changed.

I'll save everyone the hassle of looking this up ;)

Just curious about the TxX fluid change. The manual says to change the canister filter at 12,000 km and to check the fluid life percentage and change if needed at 72,000 km . So my question is why do you say that the fluid is to be changed at the three year mark ? Thanks for the clarification. Edit. Just found it in the manual and it does say change fluid every three years seemingly regardless of mileage. Seems odd perhaps for a low mileage engine unless the fluid breaks down just from time which doesn’t really seem to make sense on the face of it. So no choice it seems to maintain warranty.

The maintenance schedule above was sent out with the GM warning letters to customers. Item (4) on the back of the sheet says "Or every three years whichever comes first. If the vehicle milage is near the canister filter replacement interval, replace the fluid and filter. More frequent fluid and filter replacement may be needed if the vehicle is competitively or aggressively driven. This service can be complex . See your dealer."

Thanks. I did find the three year requirement in the manual where I should have looked in the first place, lol. Although I have yet to receive any warning letter from GM regarding it.

A little late to this, but what's the latest best deal folks are getting on extended warranties? Got a 2024 a few months ago. Never got extended warranties on any other vehicle but thinking it may be wise insurance in this instance.

It's amazing how much information is in the owners manual. I always read them cover to cover usually in the off season.
