Eray vs Z06 From Owners Perspective

I think you bought it because you wanted it? Maybe because you could afford it? Maybe because you are not a very good driver and you need AWD? My 2 cents ,I bought a Stingray and I track it 1/4 mile and I wanted to upgrade to eray or Z06 but instead I will supercharger it. Save a ton of money and be as fast as those 2 and have lots of money for beer 🍺. One last thing, I live in Quebec and lived where we had snow 6 months a year and drove 100 mph with only winter tires in the back!!! I have never driven into a ditch in my life. The only reason I put winter tires on, is because the gov made it law. AWD, who needs it, you, I guess. Have fun with your car.

That's had crossed my mind with supercharger/427. It really no loose for choosing the SR. Sure you won't have the widebody but if you strictly wanted performance, you can get it with mods.
A supercharge SR will run similar time as the Z06 and Eray in 1/4. And I would say it will pull away from the Eray beyond 1/4 mile or 130mph. It would be like the Z06 would in my guesstimate. SR is lighter over the Eray, even with the charger by 200lbs?
That would be a good race on between the 3 cars, like on Carwow/Matt Watson. 0-60, Eray is the king.

A good video for anyone still sitting on the fence about which way to go.
They are both great cars, but for 90% of the drivers I truly believe an E-Ray is the way to go.
I agree E-Ray if I were to buy one - loaded not far of the price of a Z06 though. I will keeping my 2022 C8 HRT 3LT Z51 because I have spent a lot of money on modifying it - LOL: Pro Charger Stage 2 S.C.. lowering it, spacers to move wheels out 20 mm - in line with wheel wells etc. - 740 HP at the crank etc. etc. It looks awesome - and besides, I am an old guy!!

Then why are you driving a 740hp sport car? The more hp, the younger we feel? lol...

Where did you have the SC installed ? Why did you go with Pro Charger ? And cost if you don’t mind sharing. Thanks.

I think some responses were removed. ;)👍

Disobey the rules of the road and there are consequences to be paid, right?
Same thing applies here.
I agree, that is why the thumbs up.

Well advancing to today - June 15, 2025 it would seem by the reports I'm hearing that the Eray experiment has been a smashing success as the reports have future AWD options to be offered for the Z06 and ZR1 as well as a possible electrified Grand Sport edition, who says No ...? That tells me the future of Corvette is the "X" files 🤣👍

When are you dropping off your car ? lol..
More hp then the Z06 at 624 whp?

I’m debating whether to trade for a Z-06 or going with a SC . Can’t afford the ZR-1 not that it would be at all practical for me . Not a lot of difference in cost so have been leaning towards the flat plane crank . I may be loosing it but you only go once as far as we know. The Stingray is very capable and quick but I hate to say that I have been finding it a bit, shall we say , under powered. I now wait for the flack lol .

There are heads and cam packages surfacing now. You might also consider that. Best thing I ever did to my Camaro.

I think if I could add another 200-350hp on the LT2 would be the max I would do if funds available.

If you buy a Z06, you would the warranty up to 60K kms? The Widebody, brakes etc. But if would alot be cheaper to do the Supercharger/TT. There are plenty of parts for the LT2 and would be cheaper to service a LT2 in years ahead. Exhaust tone, I am very satisfied with the highflow cats and exhaust combo on the LT2. It gives it that aggression note you would expect from a mid engine performance car. When I do my Magnuson or TT, the headers will have to be replaced as well to take advantage of the setup.
Now that the ecm had been opened, I am 100% comfortable with either option done by a reputable shop such as LPE/Davenport or Boostdistrict in TX. Maybe Davenport can be there authorized dealer for Canada as well as LPE? lol..
Those Boostdistrict guys are killing it.
They are working on a new TT setup for the LT2 that hides the turbos within the engine bay ie. ZR1. If they can closely emulate their new setup to have a quick spool like the King, that is a big win. I have confidence in their work. Will see what's in the new release soon.

Now that I’m sober this morning I calculated the cost of what I was thinking about and have come to my senses , lol. Although your idea is probably doable. And some exhaust work perhaps.
