Elections Canada - Please Read post Number 1

For the Ontario members.
I got a text yesterday ...
"It's Doug Ford. Strong leadership is needed to protect Ontario jobs against Donald Trump's tariffs."
"REPLY > YES if you'll vote Ontario PC"

I replied ...

I wouldn't vote for Ford if my life depended on it! I'm a Chevy guy!

I have 2 Fords, a Toyota, a Can-Am and a Corvette.... Glad I'm not in Ontario. I wouldn't know who to vote for....

A decent private salt water fishing boat, not a luxury liner, cost a minimum of $100,000. Hell, a motor alone with a few accessories will run you around $50,000. If you want a little luxury $200,000 is a cheap boat. Here's one that doesn't look near as luxurious as a $100,000 Corvette.... Price? A mere $885,000.00.

I was wrong when I said the luxury tax for boats kicks in at 200k it’s actually 250k.
When I said that I think a boat is more of a luxury I was talking about personal water crafts not commercial boat and I still Think that a personal boat that costs over $250k is a lot more of a luxury than a car that’s over $100k.

Yeah. If you're spending over $250 k on a purely luxury boat, it's definitely going to be a pretty nice boat. Here's a really nice 50 footer for that ocean living journey. Sleeps 6, twin 750hp diesel inboards, 2 bathrooms.... It's 20 years old but only 1000 hours on it. If you're interested I can send you the link.... lol.... Yours for $250,000 US.

Finally Trudeau showed a little spine

Trudeau after Canada hockey win over US: ‘You can’t take our country — and you can’t take our game’

Mind you the High Speed train between TO and QC is apparently back on the table. Time to, once again, throw millions of our dollars towards another study.
I think he should have taken some thunder away from Dougie and suggested a tunnel the whole length for the train.

We will just trade one insufferable fool for another.

That would be BILLIONS actually at the end of it all. Although I’m confident it would be completed within projections and under budget. Makes sense on the face of it but it should have been done 20 years ago before we were up past our nether regions in debt and still could have afforded it . Time to print more money !!!

Do you realize that no one in government even knows what 'Under Budget' means anymore...

Go BIG or stay home! (OOPS! That is what Cineplex says when we go watch our fantasies)
They should have the line from St. John's to Victoria. Just imagine, tunnels at both ends to unify Canada. Maybe a spur line to NT so 1st doesn't feel left out.
If the line would have been built 20 yrs ago the trains would not have been as fast as the potential current generation. It wouldn't' have cost as much (less money in the economy).
Dreams are what the future is about. After all we probably all dreamt at some time of owning a Corvette. Difference is we didn't break the bank to do it.
Is it a good idea.? Yes! Is it viable? probably not. But who cares!

Well. It appears the NDP and Jagmeat have hit a new low in popularity. I like Jag's latest .... 'The NDP says fundamentally, they'll be asking voters if their lives are any better after nine years of Liberal government.' Obviously he's overlooked the fact that everyone knows he has been in bed with them. Support for his party is in the toilet and rightly so.

Just curious about yesterday's Ontario provincial election. Here in Alberta, we have Conservatives and NDP. None of the rest count. There is a defined split in the demographic with our urban population predominantly NDP and our rural totally Conservative (especially after the NDP fiasco we had with them in power 8 years ago). And by urban I'm referring to Calgary and Edmonton. Our other cities only have a smattering of NDP supporters.

So my question is: In Ontario are most of your Ford supporters urban or rural?

Ontario is basically the same with Libs and Cons usually battling it out. We voted in an NDP government once and was burned by Bob Rae who the became a traitor and left for your favourite party, the Liberals. ;)

The 905ers as they are called here because of the rural telephone exchange when there was just 2. 416 for Toronto and 905 for rural. 416 is where Drake got the term "the Six". Anyway I digress. Yes, it's safe to say that rural is mostly Con and City is more Lib. I don't know what the split is.
