I have been waiting for 2 years , now, for my C8 . Ordered a 2020 on the 19th of feb. 2020 , then a 2021, in 2021 as soon as we could. So I called the conciergerie and guest what they told me ? Call back in 4 to 6 weeks !!! I have been hearing this for 2 f en years now. If this wasn t my dream car I would of bought something else, trust me. I am tired of waiting though. My dealer says , I am 2nd on their list , but how long will that take now? My dealer has an allocation of 6 to 7 a year and has 2 in the showroom . A 2020 buy back that someone regretted buying and another 2021 , where the buyer and dealership are at odds and both are Coupes but I ordered a Convertible. Man I am discouraged.

Wait, so you are 2nd on the list so that means your order has not even been accepted by GM. So why are you calling GM asking about your order, they don’t have it and don’t know that you exist.
If it has been entered then he has an order number. GM knows he exists, but it means little else.
I feel for you @wlgj but it all depends on your choice of dealer. You seem to have gone to the wrong one.

You do not get it. My order has been accepted. Just like 2020 and 2021 but I never even got a sniff of a C8.

All these dealers , in and around Montreal , are having the same problem with GM. Other dealers though were marking up their Vettes but the one I found would not do it , unless your Vette came in and you refused it , then they would sell for more than sticker. Thank you though. Yes I do have an order number.

No, it has NOT been accepted by GM. That would mean you are at status 2000 or above and you'd receive a car in about 3 months from the date you received an allocation. You are on the dealers list and have an order number. That is it! ANY dealer can enter an order in Workbench which gives an order number. But that means relatively nothing until an allocation has been assigned by GM

Well this sucks even more , then. Maybe I should just shop for something else. At this rate I will be dead by the time I get a build date. :(

If you are 2nd on their list you need to know how many allocations they have received so far. If they have only received 2 or 3 then, if they actually are expecting 6 or 7, then you stand a good chance of getting that allocation before the model year ends. I'd ask them that question. Not too many Canadian dealers have received their expected allocations at this time. GM seems to have shifted thinking to allocate cars to southern dealers over the winter. It is expected that CDN dealers will get their share of allocations in bunches over the next few weeks / months. After you find out from your dealer how many they have received you will have a much better idea of where you stand. Hopefully they are an honest dealership and you'll get a straight answer.
Good Luck! We are pulling for you!

I will inquire about their allocation , this week. I have to go there , anyway, to complete my transaction sale, of my C7, through accommodation. Even if they only get 2 , like they told me , I get one for sure. Thank you for the encouragement.

Wow... And they call western dealers crooks....
That car was most likely ordered by someone who walked away. The dealership is then free to do with it what they want. If they are an honest dealer they could offer it at MSRP to someone on their list. But they don't have to. All the western dealers are just crooks! ;)
