Just when you think you're out...they suck you back in

So I was at the top of the list for an Eray from one of the big volume dealers in Ontario, but made the decision that the car wasn't for me. I tried to convince myself that the thought of 650hp and gobs of torque was a nice recipe, but it just didn't inspire me to dish out that kind of money. At the same time, I was number 50 something on the list at another dealer for a Z06. I was told a few months ago that I had move from 50 something to 30 something and that it would likely be another 2 years before I could submit an order.

2 years is a long time, and that led me down a path to trade in my '20 coupe for something something completely different. I mentioned in another thread that I was looking at the AMG GTR, as that was a car that always peaked my attention. As we all have likely done, I went down the dark whole of the interweb, and started to look at options.

Last week I got a call, presenting me with an opportunity for a Z06 allocation. If you have read this far, you can guess that GM sucked me back in, and my order status is now past 2000 for a 3LZ coupe.

Another 2 or 3 months of waiting for the Z06, which should give me enough time to privately sell my '20 Z51. I hope the market hasn't fallen out from under me and I'm able to get some decent equity from the car. If you know anyone that's looking, send them my way!!!

Yup. But the offer from the dealer wasn't an easy pill to swallow for a car I've babied. They are allowing me to do an in and out if I bring the buyer to them so I get the tax savings.

The last time I did this when I traded in my Porsche for the C8, there was no fee, but I did do the safety with the dealer.

Well my friend , the buyer, saw him yesterday. He told me , he is now looking for an HTC. He says his wife can see out the back window , when driving and could not out of the coupe. My wife explained about the mirror becoming a camera but to no avail. Sorry about this and good luck selling.

Just for a reference I traded in my 2020 1LT Z51 with Magride 35,000kms almost exactly one year ago and got $95,000 trade. MSRP on the car originally was about $83,000.

The dealer was stuck with it for at least three months and the last I saw they were asking $90,000 so they lost money on mine. Since then I believe the market has dropped even more unfortunately. Hopefully you get what you are looking for for yours.
