Corvette Madness

I forgot how much fun it is to put a serpentine belt on a c6.
The belt fits tight, maybe even too tight.
There is only about a quarter inch of play left in the idler pulley and I don’t imagine this belt stretching after first fire up.
Because of the supercharger the one rad hose has to be disconnected to change belts.
I don’t want to fill up my system only to have to dump it out to change my serpentine out to one a half inch longer.
Anyone have a opinion on my little issue?

The idler pulley is definitely at max pull.

Thera not much room for the idler pulley to move other than there is just enough in the idler to get the belt on.

I’m going to go with the 101.5” belt that I put on.
I’m sure it will either work or it will snap.:)
I filled the inter cooler cooling system along with the engine with dexcool and filled up the power steering system.
I do believe my engine is now ready to start,I need to pull my ECU and take it to Davenports for a tune so I can fire it up.
Life is good.:)

Monday I’ll get started on a cut and polish on side panels while the car is on the jack stands.
Cheers

Today I’m patiently waiting for the UPS guy to deliver my Morimoto fog lights.
I want to get them installed ASAP so I can get my bumper back on the car.
It’s been a long time since it came off for the supercharger install.

Today I’m going to order a 102” serpentine belt and install,I’m positive that I’m going to snap the 101.5” belt.
I just don’t think there’s enough play in the idler pulley.
I am losing sleep thinking about a snapped serpentine belt...:)

Today I did not do much to the car.
I took my engine that I dismantled last week to D&W Racing for a rebuild.
He will try to save the crank, apparently the broken crankshaft cap didn’t happen when the engine oil starved in the bottom end.

The cracked cap was engine builder mistake,it looks like maybe I tightened it before it was sitting properly and cracked the cap without noticing.

I think the bearing on that cap may of spun and blocked off oil passage causing the seizure.

When I pick up the block from D&W it will be perfect rotating assembly ready for me to put on the heads and get it back into the boat.

The UPS driver just dropped off a package for mine Corvette...:)

my Morimoto Fog lights arrived.UPS made me pay $87 more for duty tax and brokerage fees.
They are the worst people to ship with.

I like what I see. There is some weight to the light fixtures.
They feel and look like good quality.

Everything I’ve bought from Morimoto has been packaged nicely, like they want you to get your lights undamaged.

They are heavy lights,I’m going to hook them up with the sequential option engaged.

Sounds like it's jelous of all the attention the Corvette has been getting lately
A trip to the dealer is always pricey in my Mercedes.
I’m sure it’s just a sensor needing replacement, problem is there are a lot of sensors.
It’s a v8 4.7 twin turbo, the complexity of this engine is way beyond my mechanical and electrical intelligence. ;)

They shoehorned that engine in there.
It’s tuned 565 hp and 705 lbs torque in a 4850 lb sedan.

Did you get the lamin x clear film for the headlights? Mine should be in next week, $80 so well worth it.
