I was surprised when I opened the door this morning to find five inches of fresh snow in Haliburton this morning.

LOL we got a little of your weather overnignt and into today: Not sure how much snow fell probably only a few inches but did it drift like mad due to high winds. 
It leveled out the driveways which meant about 1.5' of drifted snow to get thru.
........done now but waiting for the rumble of the plow to come by....
Can't complain. We've gotten off light so far this winter and have comparatively little to deal with.

It finally quit snowing here. I think I will put on my sunglasses and sweep the walkway.

the wind just comes gusting across the lake here, howls like a banshee around the tv tower.

The walk AND the driveway cleaned. However, even with my sunglasses, I was getting a headache. I think Murray had better have a long talk with that little Willy guy. :swear:

We don't call Willy a dead rodent. We call him stew. Anyone want to come for dinner tonight?? Dumpling, potatoes, carrots and a hot pot Willy.
Speaking of animals, I was coming back from Toronto yesterday after another day at the doctors. I was just south of Pefferlaw and saw two young foxes (four legged versions) playing on the road. They were fascinating to watch, they seemed oblivious to me being there just chasing each other around. It seems to me we are seeing more and more of them.

In 1899 Tallahassee Florida had a record low of -2 F .
I can honestly say this has been the most miserable winter of my life .
Back in 2004-2008 I'd drive my car to Orlando and store it in a self storage near the airport for about $100 per month .I'd find discount air tickets and fly down for 5 day weekends a couple times a month or as needed.I'm going to consider doing that next year .

It wasn't long ago, 2010 I think, that winter didn't happen at all: very little precip and much warmer than normal here in southern Ontario at least.
Crazy extremes with weather in recently years that the experts attribute to global warming and unusual effects of La Nina and El Nino.
The days of predictable seasons are all but finished.

Funny stuff. Mine will only drink espresso with a shot of Baileys. The used to like Sambucca but had trouble blowing the flames out.
hahahahaha -- tough on the whiskers I'll bet.....
