A beautifully restored Stearman (Boeing) Model 75 takes off at the Shuttleworth Airshow in Bedfordshire, United Kingdom. At least 10,626 of these primary trainers were built in the United States during the '30s and '40s.

That isn't from wiki. It is from a facecrack page I follow. They put the explanation with the picture so I just copy it here. I COULD make you guess but I am not sure either of us will live that long

I stand corrected. Hopefully the facebook page donates then as "At least 10,626 of these primary trainers were built in the United States during the '30s and '40s." is a word for word quote from Wiki.

I did my aerobatic training in a Stearman.
