C7 prices are statistically insignificant as they have only word “corvette” in the name in common with the C8.

Actually you are close Denis but it's the C8 that has nothing in common with Corvette and 67 years of history and tradition. The C8 is a Corvette in name only and in fact it's unfortunate that GM called it a Corvette as both the car and a certain percentage of it's owners have no idea what the Corvette stands for. GM could have called it the 'Wannabe' as that's exactly what it is, a cheap wannabe McLaren or Lambo or whatever other European exotic that attracted you. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice car but it and a lot of it's owners and their heads are as far away from the actual American Classic Sports Car as they can get. We welcomed the C8 members here as GM did call it a Corvette, and many of them are great contributors to CCF. But just as many have never strayed away from the C8 forum section and have zero interest in the people, the history, the comedy, the music, and all the other areas of this forum that have stood the test of time and that make the member comradery and contribution to the entire forum great and interesting. Just my opinion.

The planet literally needs to go bankrupt...seriously.
The shift away from fossil fuels to the so called renewables is taking care of the planetary bankruptcy. The "greener" we get the more expensive everything else gets.

I respect you, your opinion, all car enthusiasts and the cars they care about. I personally don’t have any interest in any prior generation corvettes, their history, American sports or muscle car history, or classic/muscle car club culture and etiquette.

Zora himself envisioned the stingray as mid engine so a C8 is a true corvette. As for C8 owners, I would say we are a close-knit group as we not only share the love for the C8 but also the struggle of how hard they are to get in the current climate, which owners of previous generations will never understand.

Denis, your suffering with the lack of availability of the C8 and it variants is certainly not new. Sorry but if you had any real knowledge of the history of past versions of the Corvette you would know that your "previous generations will never understand" comment is simply untrue. The C7 Z06/ZR1 being a prime recent examples of demand versus availability.

Duntov had envisioned a lot of things from cylinder heads for flathead Fords to yes mid engine cars. That vision of not only Duntov but management teams over the years of engineering and design specialists at General Motors created a culture for the brand. It is an important part of the history of of the cars we are so passionate about. The C8, in my opinion, would be nothing without the previous versions of the Corvette. One only needs to look at the introduction and demise of many brands of "supercars" by large and small manufactures to know without a history most were doomed to failure.

To say you have no interest in previous generations, as if our cars are not worthy nor up to the "standards" of the C8, to be honest comes across as complete snobbery with a true lack of understanding of the Corvette brand and how we got to where we are today. Just my opinion.

No, when I say I have no interest, that’s all that means. I come from a stand point of neutrality. I have no like or dislike. You seem to base your views of me and those like me based on the cars we choose, to perpetuate self-induced victimhood that you are not getting the perceived respect owed to you because of your choice of car, history and tradition you choose to follow.

I also have no interest in C8 70th Anniversary, C8 coupes, C8 in colours that are not torch red, accelerate yellow or rapid blue, and PPF, ceramic coating, and vent grills ;)

I propose we get back to the topic of C8 Z06 resale values.

I never had any interest in the Corvette. I always thought it was an overpriced and the owners snobs! I now know it's a vocal minority, but as for the cars, I could and did, build a Camaro that performed as well, if not better, than a ton of stock Corvettes for a heck of a lot less $'s. That doesn't mean I don't like Corvette. I do very much. I just never want to buy one. IMHO the C8 is an entirely different car. There is only one part in common with previous "Corvettes" and to me that is where the similarity ends. Sorry to offend other generation of Corvette owners, but the C8 is a much better car. Again IMHO. Is it a Supercar? I think so, but many don't and that's OK. It's my car and I love it. Best car ever built (that I can afford).

Surely you say this with traditional Tongue and Cheek? Choose whatever car you want but you are the one who brought up "victimhood". Could not care less whether you or anyone else likes my choice in cars, it is mine and frankly I enjoy knowing some of the history of brand. Part of the value of the C8 is indeed in its long history dating to 1953. Do you think it is all first time Corvette buyers lining up to buy? Struggles to get one? How is it that some people, even on this site, have now had two or three C8's.

All I can say about pricing of the Z06 if I had over 300K to put into a car it would be nothing that General Motors builds.

Enjoy your car.

I'm with you there. I love Chevrolet, but there are some mighty fine $300k cars out there. Hell with that kind of money I could build anything I wanted.

What is the purpose of your group rides?
CLEARLY, you don't like 99.99% of the Corvettes out there.
I like the people, the passion we have for our cars and the love of driving. If you think that C8 drivers make up just 0.01% of my cruise participants you are mistaken. C8 owners make up a majority of all participants, but all participants regardless of what generation Corvette they drive are welcome.

Just take a look at this video.

Your location say you are in Hamilton, I invite you to join our cruise this Saturday, all the future cruises, and I hope that you don’t feel outnumbered by all the C8 participants as we are all on the same team. Liking other participants cars is not a requirement to have fun

Thanks for the invite, but I'm still on the fence about replacing the C7 Z06 I so foolishly rid myself of. (daily regrets)
I ran (motorcycle) group rides for years.
If I'm starting that early, my rides end a little after dusk.

If you're interested in a day long ride, you might enjoy this......

That's insane but, since it's looking like I won't get a 2023 allocation, I'm looking at a 2024 best case scenario. Price increase and all not a problem. However, since GM/Mary Barra et al will be pushing the E-Ray, and ramping up it's production, I'm not likely to see a new C8 Stingray, possibly in my lifetime. I guess I left it too late in life to get the Corvette bug. Again. Shame, as I was really looking forward to it, but being realistic and knowing my local dealer gets a very limited annual allocation, all I can do is cross my fingers and hope. Pray for me my brothers...
How far are you on your list? Do no give up , I waited 35 months , to get it in my garage and 3 months more to drive it , finally.

1 Z06 on BAT is ending in 3hrs, currently at US$186k (MSRP is $139k). It is not a used car but new so whoever buys it in the USA will be the first owner and it is a 70th anni version.

Just curious, will it have a warranty?
