Canadian Price Increases Imminent

From my recollection, the bottom, bottom price of a '13 was $60,600, the bottom price of a C7 was what, $54,000?

Now, I don't want to see a price increase either, but it appears GM has about $6,000 to play with for the "base" models to stay 'similar' to the '13's. :D I just have no idea if they can do this with the C7Z.

Hahaha. I just checked the Chevrolet Canada site. As of right now, you cannot build and price a 2014 Corvette..... I wonder why.....:P
 
The MSRP fpr my 50th was $ 86.698 so the C7 Vert at $62 ,000 is a bargoon

A $50,000 USD car in 2003 was $80,000 up here due to the dollar exchange.

Back at that time wholesalers were sending Canadian trucks to the USA to sell because the Canadian automakers were absorbing some of the exchange on trucks and money could be made sending them to the USA.

2002/2003 were bad years to buy from the USA due to the exchange. I remember a 1.59 exchannge rate on my Visa for purchases.

So, overpriced was just due to the dollar.

My 2000 was bought when the dollar was just over par.

I have to agree that the offset of past was due to the exchange rate. Then, we really got the short end of the stick when the difference remained constant and our dollar came on par. Now of course, with our dollar sinking, we had a small window where we got a great deal.

This begs the question, is Costco going to raise their price of a hot dog and pop back up to $2, or will they keep it a the reduced rate of $1.50? :D
 
the good news in the midst of the bad is that if your vehicle was on order or ordered for stock by the dealer prior to the announcement then the price will not be adjusted.
 
I just spoke with my sales rep and his feeling is that the base car and Z51 package increase will be around $6,000 -$8,000. I did confirm that my order would be immune (though I was sure it would be). The sad news is that I have an order number and even though the car was ordered in October, I won't have a build date for about a week or two and the wait after that is 6-8 weeks! So much for May 1st :(
 
if we do see a price increase dealers will try to change your order to a 2015 and will allow them to stick you with the price adjustment be careful about "better value" on a 2015 package
 
just spoke with my sale man at Sherwood park Chevrolet in Edmonton,Alberta, canada... he says, "no changes yet"

thought you edmonton guys would like to know that! Ask for Jim McEwen, awesome guy.

This whole locked in order before certain date will most likely not get approved by the manager even if your salesman say otherwise. Most Canadians wont even get a 2014, they can also play greedy and not submit your order to GM as a 2014 but rather a 2015 and I dont think anyone can promise you a price on 2015.

Yesterday I was at the dealer where mine is on order and he said that if the car is sold at MSRP and the window sticker on arrival is more than the original build sheet, the dealer will charge window sticker MSRP, not build sheet price. Apparently the car will have cost the dealer more money as well so they will not sign a price quote on a build sheet... I tried.
