C8 vs Mustang GT500

In my garage, C7 next to a C8. Never been a Mustang fan. Nice car, just doesn't turn my crank. No pun intended.:Cheers2:
I bought the first of the GT500 in 2007 (traded in 96 collectors edition corvette convertible): a new convertible and paid about $25K over MRSP from Brown Bros. (never buy anything from them again). The first model had the badges; but, nothing else - basically a GT with a SC. It handled brutally; so, I had the suspension upgraded ( Shelby), car lowered, added big MF Mag exhaust system and away I went. The subsequent models got better several years after and the new one will be amazing. There should be dealers that sell for MSRP, I would hope? I am a Mustang fan also; but, I am on my 4th corvette. I love my C7 - amazing car!! The C8 IMHO is a car to have over the new Shelby GT500. In a perfect world, I'd have both to be honest: wife would kill me and no space in my garage.
Nicely modded.

What? No wife? Plenty of fish in the sea young fella.

One day.

Anyway...

The problem with the GT500 is unless you’re a car guy you’ll always have that person come up to you and say “hey my mom has that same mustang too!” Non car people can’t see the diff. With a Vette and now especially the C8 people know what it is and no your mom doesn’t have one 😜

This totally reminded me of one day at work...

This White Camaro ZL1 pulls into the lot and parks right at the front doors. I go out and greet him. Long story short, we had maybe 20 Corvettes on the lot and he's going on, "Why would you buy a Corvette? You drive to [insert city 1.5 hours away] and you see at least ten of them. A ZL1, however! That's a rare car! You never see one of those!"

Ummm... Dude, it's a Camaro. I don't go a day WITHOUT seeing one on public roads.

Oh, and he liked our lifted trucks, but wouldn't buy one unless it was a Denali because if the vehicle is under $100k, it's not worth buying... Yeah, he was one of those people.

I traded a Ford Raptor on my Corvette so I'm not bias to a brand but if I was going to buy a Shelby it would be the 350 as you can get one of those for a hefty discount and has a manual transmission. The 3 things I don't care for with the 500 is the interior is pretty much the same as a $30000 rental mustang (that transmission dial is out of a Focus), most ford dealers are charging way over MSRP for them(the 500 should not cost more than a C8) and at the end of the day it's just a modified mustang using the old S550 chassis from 2015 with the same headlights as the old body style( the S650 chassis/body is coming out next year so this car will be dated quickly) my2c

Fun fact about GT500 it still comes with a CD player, really Ford might want to add a cassette player also ! lol
