I had both my key fobs doing strange things. Didn't think fob battery because both fobs were acting up. Doors wouldn't open and then they would. Couldn't start car because DIC said Key Fob Not Found. Then it would start. Replaced batteries in both fobs and like magic everything ok.

Yet another on my 2017 this time ... so 3 Corvettes all need batteries in their fobs at the same time .... and now hearing others too ... is there a conspiracy ??? It’s somewhat beyond coincidental ...

however the remedy is known 😁👍🏻
 
I had issues last year when the car sat without use. I thought the FOB was dead as it didnt work. Second worked and then later it seemed to switch, other never worked. It always came with an extensive period of non-use though...through the winter... Both are fine once again now. Actually, I had one drop from my pocket in a deer stand and I found it 3 weeks later in the thick grass at the base of the tree...It was soaked and it had been raining throughout...still works like a charm. I just had to clean her out and let her dry was all.

I all good with this thread of mine here. We are in the day of where
car owners are almost afraid to do anything on their own
with their new car. Agreed there are perhaps a few ways to
resolve the same task as much as the same task can resolve
more than one problem. Dealerships are getting cars in for
service for what the experienced would say are trivial easy
things and that it's a toss-away of one's money. I agree on the point
of saving unnecessary costs if one can. So I am not above anyone
else posting even the simplest of issues so that it stays on CCF
record for anyone who comes across similar head-scratchers.
I will say that resolving even the easiest of tasks, can build
confidence for taking on more complicated things. So, while
sparing the details of why I am saying this, if anyone who just
rolls their eyes over threads like this can just
kindly move along, it allows the budding apprentice
and novice Corvette Owner to perhaps make good from it.
 
Wrapping this thread up today after returning from checking out the fob
battery replacement resolve with the total lock-out on the third Corvette.
Everything is normal following the DIY new fob battery fix.
Strange to have all 3 Corvettes need new batteries their fobs at the same time
along with the three having variable issues as a result.
However kept me busy with a simple project during this shut-down and
I'm not above anyone and happy to post what turns out to be a simple thing.
Happy it was simple too.
Imaging the cost if I took Corvettes into the Dealership
to fix these three different scenerios ...
So ... 4 of 6 key fobs now have new batteries.

Now to the next and perhaps more difficult project ....
Try to figure out how to get one of these Corvettes to Thailand
so that @ddgermann can check to see
if his fob needs a new battery too.
Starting off by watching MASH episodes where
Klinger dismantles a jeep to eat it and another
whether Radar ships pieces across the Pacific Pond.
A process to perhaps offer @ddgermann
an "assemble your Corvette" hobby while being isolated ...
