C7&C7R Live reveal

Yeah, looks promising. This season should be good for the C7R as well. Hopefully not too many bugs to work out.

The car is awesome, except I don't know if I like the supercharger. Kind of wished they had left that for the ZR1 and taken the LT1 to 7L like in the previous Z06. I'd like to see what they can do with a NA LT1 vs. FI. There is just something right about having a 427 engine in a 'vette.

unless of course they, GM. are saving that for the ZR 1.
[ assuming there will be one]

Of course from a manufacturing perspective, having the same 6.2 L engine as
the 'base' makes lots of sense.
One simply changes the 'content' without having to have separate castings etc.

Stay tuned !! At least another year !

You're right Colin, it does look fine indeed in yellow!

It does seem to be a huge step forward and you know what, maybe in 5 or so years when the prices of used C7 Z06's drop some and Manny has had lots of experience and my rich family members start to depart for greener pastures (note farming metaphore here fella's!) I'll be ready for my 1500 hp car.

And who knows. Maybe in five years I'll be ready to think about an auto instead of a manual tranny. I guess that depends which can be beefed up to handle my dream hp target.

Oddly, I find it sort of Camero-ish (rear 1/4's), new Supra-ish, FT1-ish in look now that I see it spinning 360.

But I sure hope it is a success for GM. No valve issues etc.!!!!!

Now to recover from 2 1/2 hours in the chair and $3200 from my dentist experience.

120 km wind storm yesterday, power only out for 6 hours but internet for 30 hours, no ice storm though and still plus temps for the next 6 days forecast!!

Cheers,

Garry

But I am also sort of curious:

C6 ZR1 6.2 liter SC'ed engine 638 hp
C7 Z06 6.2 liter SC'ed engine 625 hp

Maybe they gained in torque and fuel economy but you'd think they'd have been able to hit 650 or so with the all new engine design...........

Cheers,

Garry

They can't go too wild with the Z06 and still keep some interest in the ZR1 --

Besides and tweek here and there with pressure/pulley/tune will yield more ponies probably quite easily.

So what hurts more Garry -- the mouth or the pocketbook?

Feel better soon.
Think nice things like spring and corvettes.....:D

I also found it nice that that LS7 will live on in the 2014 Z28...............

Actually the mouth really hurt big time. Maybe with the in-seat time being so long the freezing started to come out and there were some moments before top-up when I'm sure my fingers were white from how tightly I was squeezing my hands!! I have to admit that I am also lucky that my gf lets me pay to be covered on her healthcare plan so if I understand everything, that $3200 in the end will only mean I'm out of pocket $600. But until the money is refunded it is gone from my account for the time being.

So as I am not really following C7 that closely, are you saying there will be a C7 ZR1 in the future too?? Wow, I can't even imagine what they'll target for hp if that is the case!

No doubt this sort of temperature is nice to experience. BUt I'd be feeling more hopeful if it was say March that it might be for good rather than just a blip. But enjoy it I shall!

Cheers,

Garry

The C7 ZR1 is all conjecture up to now -- I'm hoping it is kept alive, and if it is will have to be a cut above the Z06 .....
Time will tell.

I've heard whiskey is good for a sore mouth ... :D

Godo evening Colin,

No doubt nothing wrong with two performance options for the C7, heck a C7 GS would also be OK!

A 700 hp C7 ZR1 would sound like a good goal then!

Nice too that the C7R was mostly yellow! Can't say the red side mirrors did anything for me though.

My mouth is finally getting unfrozen. Right in time for supper!

My property manager emailed and said that part of the fence blew down and that there are shingles in the yard but they might be from the neighbours roof and not mine. Curse that wind! But nice to have a property manager there to let me know what happens.

Whiskey...........Harper (think "Sharpe" series) said that it was "oil of cloves and brandy"!! In the end he pulled his own tooth out with a pair of pliers!

Cheers,

Garry
