C4 L98 Cat-back Magnaflow exhaust system

The magnaflow muffler I'm using actually has a perforated x-pipe inside so I've got that part covered. I figure because we're only doing a 2 speed idle test for these cars, 2 new high flow cats should be good. I'll just have to flange them in the case i have to change one out quickly. Maybe I could put a flange around where the third cat would be so I can install it again if needed. I'd like to build some custom long tube headers too... that might be too much for now though....

You need the x-pipe closer to the headers to be effective. Trust me, exhaust is a science, backpressures are critical in "tuning" an engine. The backpressure acts as a scavanger of the exhaust gasses in other cylinders, thereby allowing more air/fuel mixture to enter the cyclinder. You are opening yourself up to potential pitfalls. Invest in a temperature gun, look for the hottest spot on the pipe, that is where you install the X-pipe. Good luck with this project.

Well I already was thinking about putting an x pipe right where the 3rd cat would be so maybe the next version will have one there!!! Thanks for the tip Range!

There is definitely room for improvement but for now I'm happy with results. I think this summer is going to be about stance. I need to get rid of the 4 feet of wheel well clearance. ;)
