C3's @ Dasilva Motorsports

That sucks! Sorry to hear your frustration but it's great to know that it's now built right and will give you many many years of fun!

And when it comes to buying used engines...buyer beware. :(

Sorry to hear that the engine was not quite what you bargained for. But sure am glad to hear Manny caught this before you went to use it.

Buyer beware of anything used..... if it is for sale, there is always a reason. Sometimes the reasons are honorable. Sometimes not. Bottom line you really have to do your homework. And sometimes it just comes down to trust.

Main thing here Greg, is you are now back on the road.....well once the snow is gone anyway.

So we had a set back with the build. The engine I provided Manny had a tick on the first re-fire after the install. Upon investigation it was discovered that a lifter was bad and a lobe was wiped off the cam. Upon further investigation it was found that a connecting rod had struck the cam lobe when the engine was first fired by the original builder. Manny and his crew have corrected this error in the original build and installed a new cam and lifters. I want to thank Manny and his crew for their diligence in seeing that this build is done right. I am so lucky I brought the car to Dasilva Motorsports to have it done right. And when it comes to buying used engines...buyer beware. :(

Bummer deal there Greg, but it sounds like it's all fixed up now (with a hit to your pocketbook)..... Have you rescheduled the pickup?

Not yet Colin. I'll let you know.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I wanted to post this so it doesn't happen to someone else. A stroker motor needs to be built by an informed professional. Everyone who knew this engine in town said the guy building it knew his stuff. I seem to have the worst luck some days.

Certainly its not the kind of news we like to call our clients with .

On a good note , we caught it early enough that we were still able to salvage the majority of the engine and built it properly the Dasilva Motorsports way.

My staff here at Dasilva's is very well versed in all aspects of engines not just the LS stuff . That in its self is very hard to find these days in a performance shop .

It will be a stout vette for sure :canada:

And I am eternally grateful for that attention to detail Manny.

Hope everything works out well from here on in! Just wanted to say I'd be glad to accompany you on your trip to bring her home,----if I can help in any way, just holler----I'm ready!----boB

Thanks Bob. I'll invite you around when I get her home. :)

The only downside is you would have to share it with Tom Cruise...
