C3's @ Dasilva Motorsports

So arrangements are made to pick the car up Wednesday morning. I've got an enclosed trailer lined up to bring it home for the winter. Spoke to Dave and he says the car has a nice sounding idle and the rebuilt TH400 is shifting great. Can't wait for spring! :D

Sounds great Greg; this is going to me a long winter for you this year.

Yeah, especially by the look of today's weather. :(

They're calling for snow most of this week so I'm hoping we don't have any trouble getting the car off the trailer and into the garage. I'll have to keep the lane scraped down this week. Already shovelled this morning and it's filling in again.

Been a fun watch so far. Maybe new brakes are needed to keep that newfound power under wraps?

C2/C3 brakes are ventilated with 4 piston fixed calipers all around; quite advanced for their time. I'm more concerned about the U-joints and half shafts holding up. This is just a car for cruising on a sunny day with a bit more power on tap. :)

We may have a little meet on Wednesday, Greg -- Wayne, me, Terry, and possibly Tony and Kathy may attend....

Will be great to reconnect.

C.

That would be great too!

Sorry, my plans have to change, hope everyone has a good time.

Not sure I can make it either:

Mom has had another bad spell and Sid (my 11 y/o Cocker) needs some attention at the vets.

I'm not 100% sure whether I can make it but I'll post later on depending on my appointments.

Greg ..... I'm sure you are watching the weather and that it's turning bad later today and into tomorrow, especially up your way ----- . Don't want to see you have a problem.

Take care my friend.

C.

Yeah, I see that too Colin. Not going to risk it if it's bad. Winter sure came early. We've got close to a foot of snow on the ground here. I've already got snowbanks at the end of my lane. :(

Sorry to hear about your Mom. Take good care of her.

So we had a set back with the build. The engine I provided Manny had a tick on the first re-fire after the install. Upon investigation it was discovered that a lifter was bad and a lobe was wiped off the cam. Upon further investigation it was found that a connecting rod had struck the cam lobe when the engine was first fired by the original builder. Manny and his crew have corrected this error in the original build and installed a new cam and lifters. I want to thank Manny and his crew for their diligence in seeing that this build is done right. I am so lucky I brought the car to Dasilva Motorsports to have it done right. And when it comes to buying used engines...buyer beware. :(
