Build Sheet

I decided to look for my build sheet on my 1996 CE convertible yesterday. It was where it was supposed to be so I decided to go for it and see if I could get it out of there. After a couple of hours and a bit of cursing I fished it out from on top of the gas tank. I am super happy with this result. Going to get it framed.

That took some determination. Was the black strap holding the tank in place? Looks like it was wrapped tightly.

Any surprises on the sheet?

Good work Russ! You were lucky as Colins was rusted under the strap and didn't survive as well as yours. Getting it framed or laminated is a great idea to preserve it.

That is my next step. Going to get it mounted and framed I think. Something like that.

It was wrapped very tightly. It is the tank strap that holds the gas tank. I had to wd40 the nut and bolt for a couple of hours to get it loosened up. I have it out getting framed now.

From my experience with the old Chevelle and Lemans Sport, the people would look at the documentation more than the cars themselves. Nice stuff to have.

My friend Steamer laboured last summer while car sitting my '94 and retrieved it for me.

C4's typically have them strapped to the gas tank somewhere. I don't believe they did it after the c4 body any longer.

I went the lazy root and ordered mine from the corvette museum

Another spot they use to stick them was in the front cross member.
