Lol,,,,, Did that exact thing with an old console TV my dad wouldn't let me take it to the dump when he moved
Ya . Those old consoles with the radio on one side and a turntable on the other with the TV down below....$$$$ in good shape. The Clairtones are popular among collectors as you not doubt are aware....
That was long before they became collectable.. It was rode hard/put away wet......junk...

I know you are on top of this sort of thing. What's the market like for one with nice woodwork these days ? What's asked online and what they should sell for.......

They are not in my wheelhouse of desirable items to buy and sell but mainly because they are extremely heavy and large and my storage is is 2 seacans on the farm. Not fair to store nice woodwork at 45 above in the summer or 45 below in the winter, and also what I would perceive as a limited market.. I have seen people trying to get rid of them asking $50.00. I have also seen nice woodwork ones for $500 and more. Especially the ones with the doors that close over the TV screen as they make a better looking furniture piece than a glaring old TV screen in the living room. I would expect there is likely not a ton of demand for them so selling one may be hit and miss. A really nice one might appeal to some for a coffee table.I hear ya .
