Just to let you know what I was up to last month.

Someone from Alberta?
So ... back in 2020 ... we helped our daughter buy her first house .... my wife and I helped alot and we also co-signed the mortgage ... she ( along with the bank ) owns the house . We knew that her boyfriend would be moving in with her and would be paying her rent ( so to speak ) .
Hes a great guy and they just got engaged last week .
Anyway at the time of them moving in the wife and I were worried that if something happened between them ... he may try to claim rights to the house .
Samantha ( my daughter ) was also concerned about this possibility and suggested she see a lawyer and
have a co-habitation agreement drawn up ... I didnt like that idea as those papers cost around 5 k to have drawn up .
I then got a great idea ... I told her that I would have a chat with him ...
So next time he was over I brought him to a bit of a secret room in my house that few know about
I sat him down and we chatted about sports .... cars ... and the weather ... not a word was uttered about him her or their current situation ....
next time I talked to my daughter in private ... I assured her there was nothing for any of us to worry about

The phrase “ from my cold dead hands “ comes to mind, lol. Two questions. How do you fit all of those into the safe and how many of them are the government going to try and take given their latest piece of over the top legislation ?
