Right. If I ever remember how to post a link without CCF formatting it I'll do that from now on.

Now on desktop . I can now see text under the overall grey appearance that says ,
"Loading Facebook SDK. You will need to disable any adblocker, privacy extension, or built-in tracking protection . "
This sums up why I have nothing to do with this spyware.......

I use adblock plus with no issues. Facebook does suck royally, but there can be some fun stuff on there. I follow a gorgeous doctor that is full of usefull info.

Following for the advice I'm sure........
I use uBlock Origin which can be a bit aggressive but easy to allow something with a click . My VPN also has an ad blocker and anti-spam . And of course Bit Defender snags questionable links etc. ....... It's probable a wonder I can view anything at all , LOL.
