Unfortunately in Canada, the shop owner would go to jail for defending himself.

Looks like a wheel spacer gave out on that pickup. I hate wheel spacers!Watch the video in the upper right corner. Just be patient for it to come up.
Video shows car launched into the air by runaway tire in Los Angeles
Dramatic dash camera footage captured the moment a vehicle on a Los Angeles freeway ran over a tire that had just come off a pickup truck, launching the car into the air. The incident occurred…ktla.com
I would have expected no less response from your demographic. God forbid, but if or when an armed criminal kills one of your relatives or friends, you might re-consider that self defense is a viable option to dying.fortunately in Canada, the shop owner would go to jail for defending himself.

So... Is it the gun you don't agree with? If the shop owner had hit the assailant with a baseball bat, would it be fortunate that he would be jailed for that too? Just curious.
Agree....to a point. If the robber is unarmed, shooting him is overkill. But whether a knife, a gun or a baseball bat, you are fearing for yours and your families well being and possibly their lives which justifies a defense by whatever means necessary. If you fear for your life, you do what you need to do and if, in the process, you saved some innocent person in the next home or store they break into from getting murdered, I'm pretty sure there's still gonna be a place in heaven (or wherever you'd like to go) for you when that time does come. It's a no win situation. If the robber had had a knife would that make a difference? He's still defending himself.
Is it worth killing over for money? (or whatever the robber was after)
Is it worth getting killed for money? (or whatever the robber was after)
Of course one could also argue the owner kept illegal weapons from getting on the street.
This is not the hill I want to die on. In this case I'd say he was justified, but I'd rather he just give the robber what he wanted, but it's really a no win situation. The robber could just as easily killed the owner.
Know the difference between spacers and adapters. Not sure what gave out here but..........????Looks like a wheel spacer gave out on that pickup. I hate wheel spacers!
I forget the word, but shooting a guy that threatens you with a baseball bat is not legal defense. It IS overkill. But even that has variables. If the guy is 6 foot 6 and he threatens my life with his fists then yes, I'd rather shoot him than die. But in the eyes of the law I'd have to have a reasonable fear that I would die to justify my use of a gun. Ya, it's difficult either way. If I died without shooting him, then I should have shot him. If I didn't die, but was just beaten then I shouldn't have shot him.Agree....to a point. If the robber is unarmed, shooting him is overkill. I had adapters break and I lost a wheel. Luckily it stayed in the wheel well. A "Quality" argument I guess.Just spacers - no way! Adapters with built in studs are OK!
Does where you shoot him have any relevance?I forget the word, but shooting a guy that threatens you with a baseball bat is not legal defense. It IS overkill. But even that has variables.
