try going to he Home restaurant also. There's is 2 in town. Go to the one on the way out of hope on the hope Princeton. Serious big breakfasts and burgers here. The pies are to die for also! Awesome baker there! We always stop in when in town. Usually a wait. Bit worth every minute for this lil spoon. No greasy by any means.
The picture in Hope is on Fraser street, just south of Fort. That’s the Slumber Lodge on the left and Rolly’s Pancake house on the right. Did you have breakfast there J ? The make some seriously good omelettes. In the future,if you travel through there, the Windsor Motel is the nicest place in Hope.

Ive only been to the Home restaurant once last August. Wasn’t impressed at all. Didn’t notice that hair was optional with the French toast until I was spreading the butter. Called the waitress over, pointed it out and walked out. She followed me out into the parking lot asking me to come back in and they’d make a new order. I passed.

What really had me choked was see a Starbucks where the old Hope Drive in was. That place was good.

Day 8 we spent around Vernon. It was a pretty nice day with a fair bit of clouds but nevertheless 31 degrees. We took a trip up to Silver Star Mountain which was a fun road with a Miata chasing me. It was quite surprising to see the temperature drop from the city to the mountain top. There was a big mountain bike race event happening, so we decided that it was too busy to stay up there for any amount of time. We looked around a little, and then cruised back down into town and headed for the beach. Alexander's Pub for lunch, and then let the kid run around on the beach for a bit.

We went downtown to browse some of the shops there. There are several antique stores and interesting places to browse through, and I didn't buy any Hot Wheels cars at all!

There was however a great car show forming in the afternoon, so I got to browse through 6 blocks of cars! Awesome!

This is my kind of Solstice! I believe that is an LS3 under the hood, as well as some upgraded brakes and suspension!

I am always so disappointed to hear the comments about a car like this. I love the originality of this car, and I sought out the owner to compliment him and thank him for keeping it in this condition. Can't you see the beauty in this?

This 76 Trans Am is also worthy of comment. Modern LS3 under the hood, RPM transmission, suspension, brakes, great interior and upgraded gauges. A beautiful car and so rare to see someone put so much money, time, and effort into a 76!

No car show would be complete without a Corvette, so here is a beautiful 64 for you!

In the rolling hills below my dad's place is Davison Orchards. It's a great place for fresh fruit, pies, jams, sauces, and some spices that I use for some of my recipes so I get to stock back up.

They have some cool playgrounds there, and my boy loves rowing the gears in the old tractors.

Day 9 is the day I dread. That's the day we need to pack up and head home. Luckily it's not too brutal of a drive, so I could take my time and enjoy a couple of coffees and some early morning sunshine over Okanagan Lake before breakfast.

One of the things that I do look forward to on the way home is stopping at the Frontier in Revelstoke for lunch. This place has been there for as long as I can remember, but for the second time in recent years it was closed due to a fire. I'm glad they didn't lose the place as it is all old wood, so even though we didn't get to eat there, I'm happy it is still standing.

We returned home to the same thing we left behind - rain! This summer has been awful in Alberta, and I have my work cut out for me to mow the grass and hack down the overgrowth. I'm already looking forward to my next vacation!

As an added bonus, I returned home to find something special in the mail waiting for me.....
