Anyone Else Fascinated By Old Locomotives?

Trip of a lifetime for us. Our families both have history in Scotland, most of it not good.;) The train trip on The Royal Scotsman, was as close to being treated like royalty as we can ever expect. Food, service, scenery and history all rolled into one adventure. I think they had over 100 different brands of Scotch on board. I even got to sit in the engine for several hours as we followed a fiord, I was the authorized Whistle man!
I just looked at their site and the available cabins are beautiful ! Their prices not so much, lol . But wow , it truly would be the trip of a lifetime. For those who would like to drool here’s the link.

Nice looking building. Does this adequately service the entire Uxbridge metropolitan area ?
No, there isa tour train that used to go back and forth to a town south of Uxbridge (Stouffville), but since the tornado it doesn't run. Tommy the train used to run out of there also, but no longer.

My next door neighbours friends were part of that tour train. They played the "bad" guys on horseback holding up the train for the loot.

We have the Alberta Prairie Railway here that runs similar tours between Stettler and Big Valley on the old ACR tracks. Same scenario likely. The staff all dress up in 1800's clothes and they have a gang on horseback that chases them down and robs the train and tries to scare the hell out of people with smoking six shooters. They scattered pretty quick when I pulled my 45 ACP out of my belt.... No sense of humour though as I've been since banned from the tour....lol.....

Ok.... That last part wasn't quite true but I sure thought they would freak if someone did that.... My twisted sense of humour....
