Haven't seen anyone critiquing the owner of the car.
What I read is making sure you have "track" insurance if you want to track your car no matter what brand.
The title of the thread would disagree with you…..

Maybe he doesn’t need insurance. Maybe he doesn’t want insurance. Maybe he self insures.

That's true. That also might have been the reason he bought the car and knew the risks.
There are people that track Hondas that costs them every penny they owned. That doesn't make them stupid. It's just the desire to race. I've raced many different ways and all of them have their risks. Isn't that part of the thrill of racing?

I guess if you looked back in time (1960/70's) to see what race cars were running similar track times, compared really to all of the modern Corvettes, then look at the investment those cars. For certain they were purpose built racers that took either lots of talent to build or lots of cash. So yes you hate to see someone crash their new Corvette but if racing is what they want to purse then it is probably is still a pretty good deal.

Does not appear anyone was hurt and cars can be repaired.

In my late 20's I used to track a patched up Porsche and certainly had a few close calls over the course of my short couple of years of doing so. In the end, no harm done and I was able to recoup a bit of money from saying bye bye to the Porsche. I think that most people, even if they take the car out to the track only once are smart enough to understand that doing so comes with a degree of risk both to car and driver........ but man its fun :carbounce:

I asked my insurance agent, and he says they don’t have such thing as a track insurance. Do you know which insurance company will offer such insurance?

ASN Canada insures it's members I believe. They used to anyway. If you are in a car club they usually become members. It's been 10 years or so since I was in a car club so I'm not sure.
Edit: That might have just been for liability though.
