A Sucker Punch From Your Neighbour/Friend? (US/Canada Trade War)

With this war escalate further, we may see the 2x Covid inflation.
If OJT start targeting oil and other supporting infrastructures, it will be horrifying to think where inflation would be. Even if the war is over, it needs time to rebuild.
He has to be remove by legal means.
We can only dream that there would be a relief for Canadians in the future if we are in this crisis again. We have oil. Out of the box ideas needed. Government own partial piece of the pie for emergency use or for domestic market?

Why does it have to be "legal means".... ;)

This is something that was touched on briefly a few posts back in this thread. Not trying to be alarmist by any means but this is certainly something to ponder . Not sure how well or widely this is known.

Not just Isreal but what about the demented guy from the south? I won't be shocked if he would do that when he is pushed into a corner. Netanyahu is not much better.

Israel would scare me more than Trump. I would suspect that even though Trump's stable of advisors caters to most of his rants and demands that they would beat some sense into him if he considered tossing nukes around. Retaliation to the US nuking another country is not without being expected and nobody wants the nukes to start flying in North America's direction.

It all makes sense when you put 2+2 together. Why they are good buddies. Really evil.

Can't help but get the feeling that Net the yahoo who has been trying to save his own butt at home due to non confidence motions as well as the following , was as instrumental in this operation happening as the Americans. And he has always been somewhat trigger-happy . Nothing like a good war to distract from domestic problems.

Benjamin Netanyahu is currently facing an ongoing corruption trial in three cases involving charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust, with court appearances continuing into early 2026. His recent presidential pardon request from November 2025 remains unresolved amid legal opposition, and his coalition has pushed legislation to potentially eliminate key fraud and breach of trust charges.

So.... the latest.... per NYT

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (not to be confused with the more popular pacific salmon) is talking to the orange turd, pushing him to escalate the war against Iran. Boots on the ground, seize the oil fields, full regime change. And he's offering to help no less. This is the butcher that killed and chopped up the journalist Jamal Khashoggi a while back at the Turkish consulate.
Imagine lining up for a visa application, take a number sir, and the guy at counter 3 is being fed through a wood chipper.... Hopefully the orange turd doesn't jump into bed with this guy.

Afraid it's a bit late for that . The Americans have been cozy with the Saudis for almost 100 years . And still , even after allegations of Saudi involvement in 9/11 . 15 of the 19 highjackers were Saudi citizens for example. As usual it's all about $$$.

The US and Saudi Arabia share a longstanding strategic alliance rooted in security, energy, and economic interests. This partnership has endured for over nine decades despite occasional tensions over human rights and regional policies.
Historical Foundations
Diplomatic ties began in 1933, formalized by the 1951 Mutual Defense Assistance Agreement. The US offers military protection in exchange for steady oil supplies priced in dollars and Saudi backing of US foreign policy goals.
Security Cooperation-
Recent deals under President Trump have elevated Saudi Arabia as a major non-NATO ally, including expanded US military access, arms sales like F-35s and tanks, and defense burden-sharing. Active Foreign Military Sales exceed $129 billion, with a historic $600 billion investment commitment strengthening ties.
Economic Ties
Saudi Arabia is the US's top export market in the Middle East, with $54 billion in annual trade and over 300 US joint ventures. New pacts cover civil nuclear cooperation, critical minerals, and AI access to advanced chips, prioritizing US firms.
Challenges and Resilience
Tensions have arisen from events like the 2018 Khashoggi killing, Yemen war, and 2022 OPEC cuts amid Russia's Ukraine invasion, yet pragmatic dealmaking prevails. Differences persist on issues like women's rights and Iran policy.

WANT TO KNOW HOW BAD THE CURRENT INFLATION IS?

My neighbor got a pre-declined credit card in the mail.

CEOs are now playing miniature golf.

Exxon-Mobil laid off 25 Congressmen.

McDonald's is selling the 1/4 ouncer.

Angelina Jolie adopted a child from America.

Parents in Beverly Hills fired their nannies and learned their children's names.

A truckload of Americans was caught sneaking into Mexico.

A picture is now only worth 200 words instead of 1,000.

When Bill and Hillary travel together, they now have to share a room.

The Treasure Island casino in Las Vegas is now managed by Somali pirates.

Called to get Blue Book Value on my car. They asked if the gas tank was full or empty.

And, finally...

I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc, I called the Suicide Hotline. I got a call center in Afghanistan. When I told them I was suicidal they got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.
