3rd Annual Ponoka Meet and Greet May 23rd

I believe the long weekend is the May 24th weekend.
Garry seeding around here begins May 1st til 2nd week of June at which time spraying starts...........Hope it works that you can make it.

Victoria Day in 2015

In 2015 the Victoria Day holiday is on Monday, May 18.

Victoria Day is a Canadian statutory holiday celebrated on the Monday preceding May 25 in every province and territory. It honours Queen Victoria's birthday. In Quebec this holiday is called "National Patriotes Day" (Journ

To be sure I will be motivated to get seeding done but I always am. As much as I enjoy farming I have a long lsit of other things that I would rather be doing instead. So if I'm done and I have no custom seeding opportunities I think based on how enjoyable it was last year I'll be inward bound!

Seeding, at this point will be earlier than usual, my goal is will I be ready? I got my new drill home and while it really is next to new (having been sitting unused for the past 10 years) so it has only ever done 1500 ac in total, there are some hoses that have broken from UV light and as well while I knew it had the anhydrous ammonia shanks, I was oblivious to the fact that it doesn't have any of the anhydrous ammonia manifolds or regulator!! Oops! But it is a sweet drill just the same.

Cheers,

Garry

Darn cell phones!! Thanks for clearing that up Brian. Garry it would be great to see you and the yellow beast again!

No problem... pointed this out to one other person on this forum, they thought it was the 25th too.

So, is it staying on the Sunday of the long weekend? Many people do plan outings away for the long weekend but don't think I am... July, Aug and Sept long weekend I hope to be in BC/Kelowna a few times.

Your event, you decide.

I think your event goes for about 3 hours right? I had to leave early for a wedding.. how long did it go for last year?

would love the weekend before or after

got plans for that weekend and it is a function scheduled a year in advance as I am trying to qualify for a canadian team for a world championship in 2017 (mud wrestling) and need to build up points, and they set the schedule a year in advance

would like to go for a drive however

I did ask Paul since Monday was a holiday that would it be a good idea after the Ponoka part was done to drive to Sask crossing and spend one night there.

Long weekend might cut out half the people with having other plans.

Brian

Jeffers the thought of you Mud Wrestling, has brought a little bile to the back of My throat.

It would be nice to hold an event on the "Perfect Day" for everyone, but that is Not Possible.

Arrangements have been made based on Our faulty knowledge, so be it.

Hope to see You all there on the 17th.

Mud wrestling? Oh boy Jeff you've come a long way buddy! My office calendar had the 25th highlighted as the holiday! Go figure. Anyway a trip to sack crossing would be great. Will have to check the weather forecast as the long weekend in the West Country will have it filled with campers and quadders on every bit of open space off the highway. And the 90% chance of sn%#.

I'll try to adjust my schedule on the 24th. May 10th won't work and I have a wedding to attend May 30th so the only other option is May 23/24th. Would love to make it!!!

I once went to a car show in Saskatoon or maybe it was an autocross ( 20 years ago ) and had to drive through wet snow till Elk Island Park the May long weekend :(

I wonder how busy Sask crossing gets - to me a week before going to Ponoka we see how the weather is looking for the mountains and decide from there. not enough time to do a day trip after Ponoka but staying the night would be fine.

Maybe Riley likes the long weekend idea cause gives him maybe another day off to be able to come here and hang with us.

Brian

and yes, I used to organize events and you can never get everyone to a certain date.

So after much debate and consideration of the concerns about holding the event over the long weekend, we have decided to move the Ponoka Meet and Greet to Saturday May 23rd. We appreciate the past attendies and look forward to having you all here again!! We hope that by holding it on the Saturday this will work better for those who need to travel home on the Sunday.
OK a few details. The meet will begin at 10am at the Prairie Boys car wash. This is the same car wash that we met at later on in the day last year. The wash is located on the west side of 2A on the far south end of Ponoka.
Tim Hortons coffee and donuts will be provided upon arrival!!!!
Conversation, tech talk, BS, ect.ect til about 11:30 at which time we will fire up the BBQ for Free Burgers and soft drinks!!! After the BBQ we will leave for about an hour cruise (west of Ponoka) where we will also be stopping for photos.
Hope this date works better for more people. Looking forward to seeing you all again and hopefully some new faces!!

Ok, changed the date in my calendar

Both dates worked for me but think this is the better date.

I will work to get my drone ready for aerial photos of the cars together and some video maybe.

isn't this the same day as Manny's charity event at Dasilva Motorsports? If no one is here who will look after the forum?

I hope that you folks have a great time. Maybe Brian can fly that drone down to Manny's take a live steam video so we can all link up. :canada:

That sounds great Brian. Hopefully the cars stay cleaner this year!! lol Speaking of clean the car wash will be open and their spot free rinse is awesome.
