I was thinking about dropping in a larger throttle body, but now I'm embarrassed about my excitement of the 8HP gain. Probably not even at the wheels...

That 7 litre kit sounds awesomeOr, some of us (peasants) might consider an alternative, that will probably be ZR1-like in power and "fun", in what may be a less expensive option/package.
A performance upgrade for those of us with "basic" C8 Corvettes. You know who you are.....
Now for the bad news. That 7 litre kit sounds awesome
You need a commuter for when they're in the shop? What I find curious is not the desire for more power, but rather holding onto multiple variants of the same generation of Corvette.
As tough as it may be to let go of, once I get my allocation for either a Z06 or an E-Ray, I can't imagine keeping the Stingray.
If I were to have two (and had a bit more space), I'd be more along the lines of an E-Ray sitting beside a '63 split window.
I'm sure a loaded ZR1 is going to be close to the $275,000.00 to $300,000.00 range. Now for the bad news.
US$29.950 for the upgrade on their website.
What would it cost to upgrade to a ZR1, I wonder, assuming it's not a unicorn?
You'd be looking at around C$45K for the 427 LT2 upgrade, give or take all in with import taxes and/or duties. Depends on whether an extra couple hundred HP/Torque is worth it to you. It is an interesting alternative to the pricey ZR1 option if your estimates are close.I'm sure a loaded ZR1 is going to be close to the $275,000.00 to $300,000.00 range.
Hopefully it's good on gas.My projection (sorry to beat you to it Denis) is that $300,000 won't touch a ZR1. IF (and that's a big if) you have been on a list for a lot of years and your dealer is lucky enough to get one, you might get in the door for $325. MSRP markups and bootleg after sales will be $400k give or take. Just a guess but will drag this post up again when they hit the road...
Given the mindset and path of the current federal government, by 2035 gas will cost $2.15 per litre....with federal tax of $6.00 added on at the pump. Cuba just recently decided to boost their slouching economy by increasing gas prices by 500% (that's not a typo). That being said, it's comparable now with our gas price but the kicker is the average salary in Cuba is $40.00 to $60.00 per month. Gas or food....choices...choices...Hopefully it's good on gas.
I will be positive (and GM will disappoint me yet again) I think that at MSRP ZR1 3LZ HTC will be $241,351 X 10% Lux tax = $265,487 x 13% HST = $300,000 out the door.My projection (sorry to beat you to it Denis) is that $300,000 won't touch a ZR1. Or this.
... Through the noseI would be willing to pay more for a factory performance version over aftermarket upgrade every time.
Hopefully if enough people come to their senses by next election the projected prices won’t happen and the tax currently applied will be removed. Punitive doesn’t begin to describe it.Given the mindset and path of the current federal government, by 2035 gas will cost $2.15 per litre....with federal tax of $6.00 added on at the pump. If you can afford 3 to 400 k for a vehicle does it really matter ?Hopefully it's good on gas.
Taxes are never removed!Hopefully if enough people come to their senses by next election the projected prices won’t happen and the tax currently applied will be removed. Punitive doesn’t begin to describe it.
